Has he? Haven't been watching all games for both teams, but Saka was picking up fantasy points pretty much every week - his product is exceptional - although Gordon's also been v good this season. I think Saka is nailed on, but we'll see! Almost every team is knocked out by the first decent team they play. That's how tournament football generally works. That criticism is so overplayed. Denmark were superb in the last Euros, but when we beat them it was all 'well, they're tired now'. When we smashed Germany to little bits it was 'well, they're not very good, so it doesn't count'. Bores me to tears. |

I think he't got it bang on. Maddison and Grealish just haven't been on form this season, even Maddison admits that. He hasn't missed any golden opportunities, we're arguing over second and third choice players. |

Exactly, and in fact all season he's used him sparingly. |

We do know. If fit there is not a chance in hell maguire would’ve missed out. I don’t think Grealish has done enough and, personally, I’ve always thought Eze the better player. |

I'd have taken Branthwaite. Excellent passer, had a fantastic season, miles better than Dunk who I hope is just going as he's a nice lad and a good leader in the dressing room. Congrats to Ebs and huge congrats to Wharton. What a story. I guess people will stay Southgate is a company man who never makes bold decisions though, despite all evidence to the contrary. |

he ain't picking Gordon over Saka. |

Not usually a Barney Ronay fan, but great and depressing article by him today in the Guardian. Very hard to have much positivity about the future or the world at the moment. Feels like the mother of all world wars is brewing, and football is on a bit of a precipice. |

very worrying. i don't mind him as cheap reliable back up, but anything else, no thanks. |

maybe he already decided Toney won't be making it. On form, he shouldn't have even been in the 33. Very, very unfair on Solanke. |

Also Toney will prob start later in the week. |

i mean, that's how he always celebrates. and it was a friendly match. he might have slipped slightly and the keeper did get his hand to it, but that was my point - it was too hard, low and accurate for it to be kept out. Certainly wasn't scuffed. |

As I've said, I think he'll go and I think he should go, but as usual when it gets to tournaments people will go mad over these final picks, when really, especially with a ludicrous squad of 26 now, most of the last few picks are irrelevant. Eze likely won't play if he goes, same with the likes of Bowen or Dunk. They're just bodies. More important is picking the ones that won't be a pain in the ass and disruptive if they're not playing. The eleven is pretty set if everyone is fit: Pickford Walker, Stones, Maguire (sadly), Shaw Rice, Bellingham, SPACE UP FOR GRABS Saka, Kane, Foden So there's your 11. Your realistic back-ups to that are: Defence: Trippier, Guehi Midfield: Depending on who gets that spare space, Mainoo, TAA, Gallagher Attack: Palmer, Toney, Watkins Anyone else will seriously struggle to get much game time. |

Palmer's penalty was beautifully struck, that's why the keeper couldn't keep it out. Not sure how on earth that was scuffed? Agree with the rest though. I'd be shocked if Eze doesn't go. |

He should make it based on that. Offers something different, easily our best player first half. |

Good to see Beard still keeping tabs on things years after he left the club. A true fan and much maligned by our ungrateful fanbase imo. |

Good luck to him. Regardless of whether we get a fee, I really hope he has a great game and gets a place in the squad - would love to see him at the Euros! |

Gutted for him. hope he can recover - there's always one poor sould who misses out on the tournaments in most squads. |
