I agree with most of what you say, but I can’t here. It wasn’t our defence as much as how we defended as a team.
There was little protection for our back four. That’s to be expected with a three man midfield of Grimes, Patino and Paterson. |

I didn’t phrase that very well.
I agree with most of your posts in general. I don’t agree at all that we defended well yesterday. They wouldn’t have constantly bombarded us in the second half if we had.
They had easily enough decent chances to have been out of sight. Off the top of my head, they should have scored in the first minute, cut through us twice more in the first 10 minutes or so but made a hash of it in decent positions, had 3 weak shots from decent positions in our box in the second half, all of which Rushworth saved easily and the header straight at him near the end.
Not meant as a negative post, we could easily have scored three or four ourselves. Just how I saw it yesterday. | | | |

You must watch a different game they had 3 gilt edged clear cut chances one first minute missed open goal,2 in second half point blank header when we never defended the cross or header another when we were split open and the fella dragged it wide and they had 20 shots during game,14 from inside our box and 7 on target so don't think we defended that well,more like poor finishing [Post edited 29 Oct 2023 12:41]

Re your first paragraph, blackburn are a good attacking side especially at home, they have won 3 on the bounce, we always struggle up there and no win in 52 years say that, I think we did defend well, the midfield got back in numbers most of the time to help out, we made it hard for them to get clear chances of which there was 1 in the first min and 2 in the second half, now that to me says that we defended well as a team.
Re your second paragraph, as you have said we also had several decent chances, cullens goal should have been a second because lowe scored a legitimate goal, if we had got 2 up in the 28th minute who knows what score it could have ended up, we could have pushed onto hammer them or the game could have ended 4 each but it didn't, its about time we got a bit of luck. | | | |
