NW - TOOK US AS FAR AS HE COULD 20:32 - Jan 8 with 1143 viewsgazza1

When we first took him on as Manager I was not pleased....not becuase I did not rate him as a Manager but becuase he came across as a horrible, horrible man & person. I am not sure if my opinions of him have actuallt changed......BUT I respect him for what he has done for Queens Park Rangers & we are playing where I want us to play.

He has had several months now to get us 'up & running', spent a few quid but sadly it has not been good ths season and it is getting worse - Saturday was our worst perfomance imo.

Looking back....

Bolton - slaughted
Fulham - embarrassed
Wigan - beaten 2 - 0 by a poor side.
Blackburn - a sad draw against a poor side
Spurs - so poor 1st half
Norwich(a) - lost a game we should have won
Norwich(h) - team set-up lost the game for us plus the sending off did not help.
Liverpool - we just did not bother to try and get at them, tactics were poor.
WBA - - drew a game we should have won against a average team.
Aston Villa - see above

& it goes on.

plus 2 points out of 24 in our last 8 matches....
....not sure if he knows his best team
....not sure if he knows his best formation.
....substistutions have been poor, loosing 2-1 v Norwich at home and he takes Tarbs off(not my favorite player but why take him off??) - strange decision.

I could say more but hey as I have said, I respect NW for getting us where we are but it was time to make the big decision & i supprt TF and his team for what they had to do.

ONWARDS & UPWARDS - Newcastle here we come.

There's been a touch of taking the squad as far as they can go, but perhaps not. Any others would have done a lot more with them either.

The squad has been a little too lopsided and unable to coope with injuries, suspensions and poor form, but the biggest problem is the fringe players were too isolated and barely used to the point that they were unable to capitalise when asked to step up.

I think his squad rotation and use of the fringe players could have been better, and in Shaun Wright-Phillips he had a player who in his mind should be scoring ten or so goals in the campaign and he's yet to register.

I think he was a whisker away from not being sacked. Any win against Norwich or Sunderland recently would have kept him in a job. Such fine margins.

Nice to meet you yesterday by the way.

I agree Neil....a win or two in our last 2 home games, a better performance yesterday, a fine devide....but I think TF and his team have got it right.
