Do we actually need to sign anybody for next season?
at 15:06 10 Apr 2026

If they are not good enough to play for, the very minimum, a National League team on a regular basis then they are 'miles' off playing anywhere near the QPR first team and not only that I fail to see what they are learning from playing for Bracknell Town in a very low non league set in front of 500 fans some weeks. If he is 20 years old he should be learning his trade at QPR not Bracknell Town a mid table Club, it just isn't comparable.

On what grounds do you think that he is 'far too good' ......have you watched him train, have you seen him play on a regular basis, have you spoken to him, etc, etc, etc!!!!

Not sure 'promising youngsters' would be the answer......we need to be signing players who will be played as a 'first teamer' not a squad player from the Development Squad.

I should also add that I am not overkeen on sending players out on loan to 'crappy' non league teams......basic should be league standard.

Answer to the OP.......you have to improve your Team every season to progress and we need to strengthen the first team 100%. What positions is open to much discussion indeed, as indicated on this thread, but No1 has to be a LB.

Kone - might be a good watch

Proper, proper individual in many, many ways. Good luck to the boy, he has my full support.

He will not go to the top of his profession but that does not matter at all as long as, and he said it, 'works hard'.

Keep the ball down!!
at 08:03 9 Apr 2026

It looks easy to keep the ball low without blasting it 'well high' but in the pressure of the situation it isn't as easy as many think.....however we should be doing a lot better, they are full time professionals playing in one of the best leagues in the world.

I'm more concerned about the goals that we concede so early after half time TBH, that is what we should be addressing!!!!

Another 'tidy' game at PNE, I fail to see, finances permitting, why posters do not want him here as a QPR player.

Regarding the transfer fees & wages......Sheff Utd do not want him and he is 'costing' them to do, basically, nothing so I do not think they would want transfer money for him (they would be 'happy' to get him off their books), if we can come up with a 3 year contract with a signing on fee then I am sure we could sign him.

Next season’s central midfield two.

Its nonsense when posters think he needs to be 'loaned'......loaned to who??

Improved at PNE, well done to him, but he needed to because he hasn't been good last couple of performances. Only playing because of injuries but pleased for the Club so that they can see how he plays in the Championship.

He has a 'chance', that's it. Too early to 'write off', not good enough to 'sing his praises'. Time will tell over the next 18 months. He is going to need to improve his game all around.

Liam Morrison watch

Morrison is OK, alright, no more & no less. Will never be a 'big player' for the Rangers. If we get a 'fair' offer for him we should consider it very carefully.

I like him mate, he was proper decent at PNE. I like him as a player, he 'wants it' and because his attitude & application is 100% plus I support him all the way. Agreed, he has chances of being a big asset for us. Hopefully his performance at PNE will give him much confidence.

We didn't win because we did not finish, we had enough chances across several players to win it comfortably.

Today, Kone had his best game for Rangers, proper decent performance and held the ball well, passed it well & showed up well. His control of the football was far better than he has done since joining us. I am very pleased for him.

Long way to go yet........whether he is 18 or 25 he should have won the game for us (twice) .

& why would you say that he 'simply isnt very good', what more do you want him to do, yes he could do better but if he did he would not be playing Championship football. 'Massive Wedge' is btw!!! His next contract will not be massive!!!!

As for Sheff Utd......that is their opinion, the other two LBs must be very decent.

Must have the wrong poster mate.....apologies if it wasn't you.

Bottom line is that RND is able to do a pretty fair job as our first choice LB and should be a good full time addition to the Club, finances allowing it.

And BTW, I do not think it is harsh re your comments about Mbengue......he is technically not as good as a players who play regularly in the National League. I would still have in starting in my team because he has a lot of other things going for him.

I will say it again, you go on about our full backs but that is not a major issue with the team.....

RND is good enough and I see none of this 'rubbish', because that is what it is, about his fitness. He has been a regular since he arrived at the Club and plays pretty well. If he(1) will sign for a low signing on fee, (2)Sheffield Unted are willing to release him (Why wouldn't they, they don't want him) and (3)he is willing to drop his basic wages, etc then the Club should be looking to 'get him on board'. He is good enough and comes across as a 'good lad'.

Menbgue, whilst he has limitations technically and his crosses can be pretty wild, those first couple early in the match on Saturday were absolutely proper shocking, so shocking I laughed a lot!!! But he has got a lot of the abilities to play at RB, it is just technically he fails a bit!!! And finally about Mnbgue, if I was playing against him I would know that I was in for a 'good kicking' one way or another, he is 'rock hard' player and if you get within 'distance' then you had better beware.

We have adequate full back replacements to act as back up for those two players.

Spend money on a striker, midfielder and, dare I say, a GK.

If Sheff Utd do not want him then they will release him on a free - they are not going to pay him for not playing.....he is not going to cost 'bundles' on transfer fees or wages anyways.

The RB is Mbengue currently and maybe has played at CB but overall, whilst not a polished article, is doing pretty well, not perfect but decent enough. We got 3/4 young lads who need to 'step up' when required. We cannot afford a new RB. WE also have Dunne who played RB for much of last season, again not ideal but good enough.

The LB is RND who, once again, is doing good enough. I am not of the opinion that he is injured nor that he cannot play 3 game weeks. If he cannot then we should be using Esquadeha as a back up or Larckeche when he gets fit.

Dont really care about the 'vast majority' but you have my thoughts on FB's.

I agree CM (If Varane doesnt 'step-up') needs strengthening but just as important are forwards who score goals & can hold play up and make better 'runs', much better than we do now. No comments about a GK!!

Come on Myke......We have two 'decent' full backs - they both played on Saturday and were pretty solid defensively and got forward pretty well. They are not the best but decent enough, far more positions we need to replace than full backs. FYI, Field was sub (again) for Norwich on Saturday.

Portsmouth defensively were 'Sunday morning' material, hence the 6 goals. Very pleased that our two limited forwards both Kolli & Kone scored. Likewise, Smyth's double was most deserved from a player that is a Ranger!!!

Overall, though, we were pretty average and the 6-1 win was a little flattering.

Decent enough LB, well good enough for us. All a lot of rubbish about 3 games in a week is too much for him that posters have been writing as far as I can see.

Sign him if he is not going to be outside of our wage structure/transfer fees.
