Harry's press conference 09:50 - Aug 2 with 6498 viewsNorthernr

Updates to follow - keep hitting refresh....

28 mins late, in on crutches. Looks tanned and happy. Less baggy chopped.

Now just sort of sitting there, nobody saying anything, bit awkward.

Every club has problems, we've made changes, brought a couple of new players in, starting to take shape, looking forward to it, going to be a great year at QPR.

Don't see why we're favourtes, we're putting a new team together. Tough league, triffic teams, 7 or 8 excellent teams, few surprise packets as well like Hull, Palace. never easy. Very tough. We'll be right there.

Need people with right attitude, Sat Tue Sat Tue every week. Need people who can cope with the rigours of that.

Followed Charlie Austin since his Hungerford and Poole days. Scores goals, fantastic finisher. Amazing last year. Great in the air, great potential, keeps improving every year, the sky is the limit, who knows what he could be in a few years. Not impossible for Charlie Austn to play for England one day. Have a look at the lad Lambert, what a player, Grant Holt came out the lower divisions. Scoring goals is a special talent, he's got that, he'll score in any division.

Never had a problem with his knee. Had an op on it when he was 14 never had a problem since that day. Gamble. I had Julian Dicks at WHam, fantastic, would never pass a medical. Ricardo Fuller the same at Pompey, never misses a day's training but would never pass a medical. Charlie's knee isn't as good as it should be but it doesn't give him a problem.

demba Ba has a bad knee, doesn't trouble him.

No idea on fee, Phil Beard handles that, less than he was going to Hull for.

COMMENCE GARETH BALE WNKATHON

Joey Barton not a minute's trouble, trying hard, training hard, played well for Marseille, if he's good enough he'll play.

Cesar, world class keeper, played for Brazil in Confed Cup, could play for any team in thw world, doesn't want to play Championship, up to somebody to come in and buy him.

Adel, great ability, if he wants to leave somebody has to pay money. If they want to loan him pay the going right. He can turn a team round when his mind is right. Yesterday was the first time he's trained since second day of the summer. Could stay and play and get us promoted, or somebody might take him.

If Remy is going on loan, we paid £8m and gave him a four year deal, if somebody wants to loan him then pay us £2m. He'll get 15-20 goals next year in the Prem if he goes there. Top class player. Probably play for Brazil in the world cup (I bet he doesn't).

We move on from Bosingwa. They've gone. History. Excited about this season, we're putting a team together here that will be a fantastic team. 2 or 3 weeks away but we'll have a team here that excites people.

Good lads, not a minute's problem. Excited about new season. Two or three weeks we'll be even more excited.

Colombian player mentioned, watched him play last week against Atletico Madrid, big lad, powerful, goalscorer. Possibly. Not sure about the situation. One of several options.

I want to get promoted this year. I don't see that we're favourites. Champ full of big clubs. We're not Man City or Man Utd or Tottenham. Lots of big clubs, Forest, European Cup, little boys, in the park, jumpers for goal posts.

Not good enough last year. We finished last because we lacked quality. Mark couldn't get anything out of them, I couldn't get much out of them. No quality.

Steve McClaren is triffic.

Board giving it a go. New pitch, new dressing room, training ground. I'm trying to bring players in here that will blow people's minds if I get em. We're pushing on, if people want to come with us then great, we're going places.

I don't know what a Twitter is.

West Ham had launched a bid for the 22-year-old last month, and had started the work permit application before opting to pull out of a deal earlier this week.

However, now QPR have stepped in and are ready to try and land the Estudiantes striker.

"Yeah I've seen him only on clips and everything. We've watched bits and pieces of him. We've watched him play last week on TV against Atletico Madrid. Big lad, goalscorer, powerful," he said.

When asked about the prospect of a move, he added: "Possibly, am not sure what the situation will be there.

"It's something we have been talking about. He's one of several options that we've got at the moment."

The player himself has previously said he was happy to stay with Estudiantes, but he has revealed that he could quit because of unpaid wages.

"They owe me and my team-mates money and do not seem to be willing to resolve things," he is quoted by Argentine daily Ole.

"The president lies and they owe me a lot of money, there's no point them improving my contract if they don't pay me what they owe.

"There is renewed interest from Queens Park Rangers in me. I don't know what will happen with my future and I don't want leave on bad terms with the fans because of the words of the president."

Ah but you are slightly biased aren't you, him being from Colombia !?! His scoring record does not appear to be that great but he certainly seems strong on the ball from what little I've seen on YouTube.

Zapata's gotta be a shoe-in.

Muy bien

I'm looking forward to watching this strange, upbeat Redknapp organism later on, but I'm more interested to see the effect that McLaren has had - could be good!
