9th May 1999-Simply the Best!
at 09:13 9 May 2024

Who can forget that beautiful sunny day 25 years ago?
Final match of the season and the R's on a 5 game losing run.
Palace with nothing to play for so they could relax and enjoy themselves.
A must win game in front of a full house of 18500.
George Kulscar relieving the tension after 8 minutes and Chris Kiwomya adding a second on 43.
Palace's Fan sent off after 48 and Rangers start looking like a cross between Real Madrid and Barcelona-sort of!
The R's are 4-0 up by the time Palace are reduced to 9 men on 81 as Woozley sees red.
Tim Breaker adds number 5 on 82 and Kiwomya completes his hat-trick on 85.
At full time it's party time and the pitch is swamped with stunned yet jubilant R's fans.
As it turns out this was a MUST WIN game as other results would gave meant a draw or defeat would have seen Rangers going through the trap-door.
For me this result tops the thrashing of We All Love Leeds because of the poor run of form we were in and also because this was the last game.No follow up game to put things right.
Yep Palace were there for the taking but everything that day was just perfect.
Even the pints my old man and me supped later in the day seemed to be extra cold!

Thanks for that info.
So that's like the equivalent of the 7th tier in the men's pyramid.

Can anyone give me some idea of where in the ladies football pyramid Rangers are?
They got thumped by Maidenhead on Thursday.
Are they-the ladies team-playing in say the equivalent to League 2? National League? National League South ? Or lower?
Anyone help?
Thanks.

Watching that game last night can anyone see us keeping a clean sheet on Friday?
If not then perhaps a point is all we can hope for(so long as we only concede once!)

A mate of mine has spent the last 10 years working for a sewage treatment company.
This last year he's been so bored that he's been working minimum hours and doing no overtime.
You could say that for the past 12 months he's just been going through the motions.

Fair play to Brentford.
How many clubs would stand by a manager that has seen his team win 2 draw 1 and lose14 of their last 17 matches
Quite remarkable in this world of hire and fire.
Let's hope the Bees pick up 3 points on Saturday!

According to the official website supporter information-match worn shirt auction-today we will be playing.ROTER-HAM...
"Rangers fans will be able to bid on the shirts worn by the QPR players for the game against Roter-ham through our partner MatchWornShirt."
Let's hope that come 5pm that doesn't come back to haunt us!

Seeing nearly everyone wearing a free blue and white scarf on Sunday reminded me of the Minder episode "Looking for Micky" where Arthur is flogging "exclusive one-off" dog tooth sports jackets.
So exclusive that at the end of the episode Arthur and Terry go into the Winchester and every punter is wearing....an "exclusive one-off" dog tooth sports jacket-including Dave the barman!!!

He should never have been let go. Not the tallest of keepers but a great shot stopper and made several penalty saves. Definitely one of the best I've seen play for us along with Phil Parkes and David Seaman.

Best QPR Goal of All Time

How about Seny's UNIQUE goal versus Sunderland last season.
Great header.
Failing that it has to be Trevor Sinclair's bicycle kick versus Barnsley.

I watched Tuesday's game on Sky's red button. The other half was out so no Eastenders and makeover programmes malarkey.
Great goal by Dykes but the 3 points were there for the taking.
I turned the TV off and sat quietly reflecting on my time following the R's.
Being 64 I am lucky enough to have seen the glory years-say 1966-1994-.and had a great 3 days in Reykjavik back in '84.
The question I am putting out there for all those who are a long way away from drawing their OAP and never saw the likes of Rodney,Stanley,"Henry" Mancini,Phil Parkes,Clive Allen etc.. is
"What -realistically-would you like to see Rangers achieve over say the next 20 years?"

KING RODNEEE....AT THE SUNDERLAND GAME
at 10:50 13 Sep 2023

Those of us of a certain age delighted that Rodney will be at HQ on Saturday.
I get that Stanley seems to be the main man for many supporters but without Rod would there have been a Stanley?
We all were in awe of Rod's televised hat-trick back in 1970 against Birmingham but he scored other fantastic goals that were never captured on film. They only live in the memories of those of us old enough to remember them.
242 appearances 134 goals.
What do you think his worth would be now?
