Excellent report there NorthernR thank you. I agree entirely with your comments ref some of the questions asked particularly about Ferdinand; I'm half worried if those imbeciles keep asking then he will feel under appreciated. Thankfully those with half a brain cell or even the merest of experience in the business world have an understanding of what a director of any segment of business unit is there to do.

I'm trying to be realistic with regards the interest charges by Ruben on his loan - sure it is unpallatable (polite way of putting it!) but if that's one of the worst things we now have to complain about, then that's not so bad a position to be in.

Love the comments from Olly! The overall sentiment is excellent and although we've all seen false dawns before this feels as good as any past, if not better!

Game four of 46 — Preview
at 12:53:00

My favourite bit:

Paul Huntingdon (gigantism) is unable to fit on the team coach for away games any more.

It's a long season and that season is part of a long period of sorting our shizznatch out and getting our house in order, some people do need to chilllll and remember why on earth they bother in the first place - meant to be FANS! Doesn't mean you can't have a whinge but that shouldn't be the modus operandi!

U Rrrssss!!!!

Just don’t mention the FFP — Opposition profile
at 22:48:00

I think that while we might he annoyed if we were in their position, it's just tough luck. If they'd have 'fought the law' then they could've got away with more.

That said I find it deeply satisfying that in some way, shape or form, we have rankled them sufficiently to cause somewhat of a nuisance of ourselves and a bit of a blot on their otherwise shoddy piece of paper! Ickle old QPR giving the 'champions of Europe' a bit of a headache is GREAT!!

Now if the good Lord above can assist and ensure that we leave the happier on Saturday then that will be on huge bonus for me personally and if we can do the same against Blackburn then we can be truly happy that just for once we aren't the ones chewing ok those sourest of all sour grapes!

The Mack is back, righting a wrong of the recent past — signing
at 23:12:32

Welcome home James! Have a good wash though, don't want any nasties from those buggers at Notts Forest!!

The following speaks volumes for the man and his character:

""
The story goes that in the horribly fractured, cliquey dressing room that Mark Hughes, Mike Rigg and Kia Joorabchian accidently foisted onto Queens Park Rangers a clutch of the French speaking players used to laugh and joke together about Jamie Mackie
""

He could absolutely flatten any/all of them yet he just packed up and moved on without creating a fuss, top man in all regards and I sincerely wish him all the very best in his return home. Can't wait to cheer his name again!

In love with the game again - Interview

That seems like a very wise head on young shoulders and hearing that the youth players have stepped up and really giving 100% to get their chance is very promising.

The pace of change - preview

I don't think it's going to be a good day for us, Swansea are looking for a change in away form and who better to play in such circumstances than us. A repeat of the away game ensues I fear.

Rangers rescued by Austin's powerful treble - report
at 23:58:32

I think in the end we were worthy winners. They had chances, some very close, that they will put away on another day, but we had as many if not more our selves. A great come back but crikey they made it difficult for us at first!

We must keep Austin! Let's hope a-holes like Liverpool are put off in the same way Hull were should they come sniffing!

A test case in ambition - opposition focus
at 21:29:12

Thanks for that but it sounds devastating, they're at home and will not be wanting to drop more points to relegationd fodder like us! Palace could have done us a favour there by lulling them into a false sense of security but ohh no...

With nothing really to lose, let's hope we go at them.

Recent QPR progress halted by eighth straight away loss — report
at 23:30:03

Good write up as always Mr Northern! Agree that Green was our MOTM, he made some great saves and brave decisions at times.

Let's hope this is a reminder to the players and staff that we can't just play well v the big boys (as you say turning it on for those games only wont do us any favours!) but need to against some of the more realistic sources of points. Lesson learned before the arrival of Leicester I hope, or we are in big trouble.

QPR's secret Japanese weapon, via Newcastle — interview
at 10:43:31

Excellent read! I've seen some motivational speakers and so called inspirational speakers from tragedy survivors to round the world yacht race winning Captains but none have had the impact of just reading what Steve Black says in that article! On Monday I'll be email my management to consider having this guy come talk sometime, I think he would be an excellent guest speaker at any event!

I'm interested as others have said on how this is maintained once he has gone, does he do 'train the trainer' type sessions and come back for 'audits' and refresher sessions?! Whatever it is we MUST sign up to it immediately.

In hindsight I think his work was clear at wembley, even when the red was shown I didn't THINK Derby would score. Usually we'd have capitulated but we didn't and that belief the players had, thanks to Black, really was rubbing off on me at least but I think the rest of the fans too and that's what made winning that game in that way just so good! I really felt part of it!

LFW Travel Guides - Nottingham, City Ground
at 13:17:50

Agree with NGB, although Im not longer an inmate...resident...there, thankfully!

Id suggest you stick West Bridgford in the Sat Nav and aim to park, drink and walk to the ground from there. Junction 21A is the way to go too, otherwise you have to skirt around the city on many a country lane.

Good luck to those who travel, I have the excuse of being on Duty but even without that I doubt Ill be heading back to Notts anytime soon!

How's your luck? QPR nab Burnley striker Austin
at 14:54:29

Excellent article, NorthernR. You sum things up very well especially around the atmosphere/vibe of the fans.

This is certainly a risk, but its one I think we can afford, and if things go our way (sooner or later surely they must do?!) then we may well have added a very good striker to our ranks.

Bobby Z and Andy J are both prone to a spell on the side lines, and Remy may not be here much longer, I dont think he'll be with us in January one way or the other, so we will need the abilities that Charlie A brings to the table.

I cant bring myself to rely on SWP to start crossing from the wings, and Hoilett has a lot of getting better to do before he is anywhere near reliable. Adel T and Ale F appear to be on the periphery sadly as theyre two of our best in the middle, especially Ale F who I think would love another decent season in the Chumpionship to help us back up.

Too many unknowns and a history of being out of favour with lady luck makes predicting QPRs season with any reliability incredibly difficult. Just try, youll end up contradicting yourself either in the same post or at least same week!

Roll on the weekend, we win and its our best in years, we lose and itll be likely a 3 or 4 niller with a few career ending injuries for us....cant quite shake the pessimistic feelings just yet.

Simpson starts Redknapp’s ‘right sort’ revolution
at 23:08:14

Much like you Northern, you daren't say the obvious about a player we've signed, we do seem to have a disabling effect on the footballing capabilities of payers we sign, with a few exceptions.

I'll reserve judgement and maintain my fickle fandom of my beloved Hoops.

Another summer of turmoil?
at 15:49:52

Im wondering this is the quiet before the storm. If HR was to leave Id rather he had done so by now. As he hasnt, we have to assume he will stay and God willing do the work he is most well known for and get some deals done, both in and out.

IMHO there are some we should just bite the bullet on and pay them off to get them out of the squad and remove their disruptive influences.

In any case, I am beyond wanting this or that, absolutely no point in getting the hopes up only to be dashed a week or so before the season kicks off and we find we have another new manager!

So we continue doing what we do...
