Derby County 0 — 1 Queens Park Rangers : As it happened
at 03:36:23

Thank you Clive for detailed reports and insights all year.
I am one of the many R's fans that live abroad so can't attend matches but follow fervently (I made it to only one, the new years day game against Doncaster with "5 partners in crime" :ie, part timers but still fans. What a rubbish 1st half performance and we were all low, but like so often this year, the team found a way... Did all 6 of us leap out of our chairs in the Ellerslie Road Block-T seats when Charlie slammed in that winning 90th mins header and punch the air in unison... YES WE DID!)
Did I leap out of my Tv-bound chair, from previous deep despair, when Bobby drove that crisp bobbling loose volley into the side net of the goal at 1000mph, YES I DID!
There is an irony that if we had marched on to top the league with a fit Austin (and in my opinion Faurlin, the missing key that Redknapp had at 1st ignored but was beginning to recognise as the magical playmaker he is), like in 2011, we wouldn't feel as good as we do now, there seems to be momentum... wonderful days.

QPR cover injured forwards with Chevanton signing
at 22:46:45

I'm a little surprised by this but don't feel it is a bad move.. like Clive says in the article and others comment, it is a no-lose situation really... but Harry, who may not have purchased Zamora and Johnson himself, did CHOOSE to sell, Mackie, Cisse, Bothroyd and loan Remy... let's not forget that.... oh poor Harry with no strikers!

Buzsaky's brilliance inspires QPR's Wigan win - full match report
at 22:35:15

Excellent report Colin.

I agree with pretty much all of your assessments, often with a rather perceptive choice of words about Barton, Mackie, SWP, Helguson and of course Buzsaky - particular like the wisdom that Buzz would never be playing if it weren't for the injury to Faurlin (and Taarabt being away) - quite probably, NW would be picking him - it is not a Hughes special insight! At your comments about set piece quality has been well documented but the comments about passing out from the back are def something that will need to be introduced eventually...

Despite the solid performance, it was against probably the poorest team in the league and I for one am biting my fingernails... The next 6 league games are big-time-crucial before the killer 10 match run in....

Come on you R's!

Newcastle defeat outlines size of task for Hughes — full match report
at 20:26:52

Great truths revealed as also Clive...

Your stark fact that we need to win 6, possibly 7 of the remaining 17 games to stay in the Prem is a body blow to me, I kind of felt it hadn't got quite that far yet. To be honest, I had been pessimistic from the moment the fixture list was published, we were going to struggle to survive this year, such a difficult run in! My hopes were raised a little with the Fernandes take over. I was down on the 0-4 to Bolton first game up, a totally outclassed Championship champions by a "mid table" Prem side (No comments please mid table ha ha, but thats what we thought at the time). Up on the 0-1 at Everton (You criticises Derry here rightly for the most part recently [but like some others above, I don't agree with your hint that he "deserved a red card" etc, yes it was late, yes he caught him, yes the French man squilled like a stuck pig for a full 5 minutes and waved his finger/ arm/ tongue/ cock lots, but the whole subject is a can of worms at the moments, I'm not getting into it further!] but Derry was magnificent in that pre-take-over fixture, great distribution, 2 goal saving tackles and even made a huge effort to score his 1st QPR-goal ever, MOTM by a country mile!). I was wavering with the draws at home to Newcastle and Villa when we were clearly the better team (if you don’t take your chances...) We played "difficult to go to" Stoke at a lucky time and managed a magnificent away win that finally put a smile on my face, up into 9th and "it felt good to be a QPR fan".

But since then, as you put last week (roughly like its not a quote!) "its been a combination of lack of quality and bad luck - a combination guaranteed for relegation". We saw the same on Saturday. Bring on Wigan, I may have a dumb half smile on my face if we beat them, but anything less and I reckon its close to all over, what with Hughes "slow starts" and all, needing 7 wins from 16 against top draw opposition... Maybe Hughes has a master plan to beat Man City on the last day of the season, saving us from relegation and denying City their 1st Prem league crown at the expense of United... Do you think he'd like that? The facts are becoming clearer that we’re not even going to get close to that opportunity are we…? And for Hughes? No one will think the worse of him, bag the 2-3 million quid cica, and move onto the next ambitious challenge...

QPR finally Puncheon above their weight — but at what cost? Guest column
at 14:57:43

Chris, seems you ruffled a few feathers with your negativity, but I for one symphathize with the sentiments here... Some of the wages we must be paying and are tied to for 3-4 years (they have kept it quiet!) will cripple us if we don't stay up, or at least cripple TF - and will he stay around? My gut reaction is he will, but you never can be sure with hard nosed businessmen...

I remember when Tango and Cash took over and the unbridle sense of optimism then! Fans are constantly on about "big transfer fees" and splashing the cash but it is way more complicated than that ever since the Bosman ruling... Clubs no longer own players, but lease them... the club is stuck between a hard place and a rock. If they dont give a long contract and the player excels, they lose him for nothing (or next-to-nother) to another club willing to pay bigger wages. If they give a long contract and they turn out to be naff... well I don't need to state the consequences of THAT to QPR fans do I, we still got about 6 on our books like that at the moment (not too bad if the player can be loaned and another club pays their wages, but what of Rowlands, Cook, Agemang, etc!) I see here the management have tried to be as canny as they can in the length of contract, but we have still picked up here some dead wood this transfer window IMO, especially as a result of the two tiered approach, before TF moved the goal posts! Yes, the management are making all the right moves and saying all the right things at the moment, but what if results don't go well, (I can see that happening) how will the pressure effects us all then. If we dont have 35 points by before the last 10 games, we will be in the shit, what a bastard that run-in is! Lets just hope the team DO gel and we hit the ground running...

QPR’s Torres bid flounders as window slams shut
at 22:06:35

What do you mean, we didn't get Torres in the end, what a bummer... sounds so close to it though, nevermind plenty of other good signings this "deadline day" and we may get him in January!
Your article is a satire of Sky (and not-only-Sports!) reporting, I worked for them for 8 years in the 90's and hated the blind egotisical ethos...
"We are intelligent enough to know its wrong/we are wise enough to know it sells/we are canny enough to turn a blind eye thing (until we get laid in the shit by someone like the royal family or LFWs!?) It is both encouraged and rife from top down thoughtout the company.. Like some others have said here, this is a bit deeper than football matters only and not limited to Sky. Top Notch cutting edge article Clive.

Could Gabbidon signing mark a change in tack at Loftus Road?
at 01:16:17

NW is not a god but we trust in him... I think there is a bit of a knee jerk reaction going on from some fans about our defenders lacking pace. Sure when Rooney or Droba is coming at you full tilt, its unstoppable... but WHO can stop them? I think the confidence our defensive unit built last year will see off most average opposition for at max one goal per game (Unless their Scunny ;)). All the doom and gloom, cheer up folks!
Especially if Taarabut is in (and it seems now that is certain), NW will kick his little Marrocan arse right up in the air!!!

Could Gabbidon signing mark a change in tack at Loftus Road?
at 00:58:06

Clear as water to me.. BE & FB thought their vast investment would pay 300% plus profit with promotion to the premiership, but nobody wants to buy a "just promoted" team with a small base support... Now they are doing a u-turn and pretending they actually want the club to be successful and are prepared to invest further... Greedy businessman, please get out!!! But who will replace them even if they do find a buter...? Just more greedy businessmen probably!?

A QPR championship party 3,000 miles from home
at 10:33:39

Fantastic read for us ex-pats Rob, excellent round up of the whole season - a little more summarised than a Clive version would be I reckon ;) and bringing it all back.
The way you put it, Warnock really has done something remarkable in 13 months, no matter what happens next, R's fans will not forget him. I've read a lot about the players being a tight knit group and this is where the success has come from, a bunch of "Championship plodders" producing outstanding defensive qualities week in, week out - and with Taarabt sprinkled on top, the total seemingly greater than the sum of the parts - genius NW!
I like most though fear for next year, unless a bit more quality is brought in. Great though our defence has been this year, we'll be a bit flat footed in the Premiership I fear... pace, the need for pace! I And I fear too the thought of GP/FB/BE messing it up again - how much can we take?

This Week — 31 reasons it could be our year (and 12 why it might not be)
at 18:29:55

Clive, thankyou thankyou! As is obvious from my handle I now live in Madrid, but am QPR through and through. I blame my dad. And he blames his dad! Your waffling detail into all kinds of carry ons keeps me well entertained far from the action, this is a fans-network-site to be proud of. I'm not one to comment much, but thought this article was a bit different and covered lots of things us fans have on our minds at the moment regarding "Could this be the year" . Brillant.
I was at "that" game you mentioned last line, away to Norwich April 17, 1976. I was a 10yo boy and remember the day clearly. I was so damm excited my dad nearly had enough at one point, and threatened to drive back home if I didn't calm down. When we finally did get in, I couldn't really see the pitch as it was totally packed in the away end (They would never let so people in nowadays - Ref: Health and Safety article last week, ha ha ha!) We were like sardines, in the cement isle leading up to the standing terrace! My dad could just see and gave me a commentary, occasionally lifting me to see a bit of the action! And what action it was, creamy green playing surface in the sun and slick fast passing... that's all I remember, together with listening on the radio to Liverpool v Wolves the week after, hoping for a miracle. That WAS a team.
If it can be blown, we can blow it!
I will be at my 1st game this year on boxing day in S block. Come on you super hoopsters!!!
