Stoke are ahead of us by having scored 3 goals more, so if we do better than they do in the last 2 games we go above them. They are away to Southampton and home to Bristol City. That is another possible insurance policy. |

The scenarios for us to go down are now getting into fantasy island. Assuming we get nothing from the last 2 games; At least two of the following need to happen for us to be relegated. Any points secured in the last 2 games makes us safe anyway, Huddersfield need two wins and to reverse a goal difference of 11. Birmingham need a win and a draw, but if Hudds beat them (see above) they can’t catch us. Wednesday need a win (and reverse a goal difference of 13). I assume WBA will win their game against them. They are at Sunderland on the last day. Had they lost today we would now be all but safe. Plymouth need a win and are away to Millwall and home to Hull. Blackburn need a point from matches against Leicester and Coventry. |

Was he the one who came on as sub in his first game for us and immediately crocked himself? |

Lower Loft terrace or East Paddock in the early 80’s. Then season ticket in T block (wonderful view and great atmosphere). Since mid 2000’s have lived away so occasionally in SAR (more comfortable but less atmosphere). Occasional Upper Loft as well in the early 80’s. Never been in School End. |

It did. I love this piece. Wasn’t at the Leeds match but certainly was for that Spurs match. Penrice’s goal was perhaps my favourite. That dummy. Brilliant. |

To enlarge on my theme, I think Marti is currently studying at what I would call the senior command college. In a couple of years we will see which of my two types he is. Therefore, he should stay with us for a bit to burnish his credentials. As others have pointed out, there will probably be a bit more money next season. |

My perspective on football managers is that they can be divided into field marshals and sergeant majors. The ones who drop you in it are the latter who think they are the former. Examples; Mark Hughes Steve Bruce Steven Gerrard (surely the most overrated manager ever) Wayne Rooney Steve McClaren |

Great pictures. My personal favourite is the one where Jimmy Dunne lets fly. If I were him I’d have an A1 sized framed version hanging in my sitting room. |

Can I give a shout out for two Hitchcock movies: Dial M for Murder and Rear Window. Other favourites of mine already mentioned on here; LA Confidential, Raging Bull, Day of the Jackal Guilty pleasures, Bond and Bourne (any-except Moonraker, which is just too dreadful). |

He has now reported himself to the House of Commons Standards. If he is suspended for more than 10 days it could be another by election. |

I think SA Road should be renamed to Stan Bowles Way. |

Our local Tesco has Banks’s Bitter. I think it is a decent session beer. £1 for a 500ml bottle. |

Thank you for that link. It’s a rather splendid article by one of the top sports journos from The Times. He sits in R block. It reminds us that (probably due to location) there are quite a few highly eloquent (and opinionated) R’s out there. Future charlatans beware. |

No Fergie time in 1996, we stay up, collect the new TV contract, happy days. |

It’s a guy called David Meller. Not the Tory David Mellor. |
