In answer to Stainrod's Elbow, the difference between Warburton and Eustace is, I believe, that the latter still has a year on his contract. So the club can afford to wait and see how things pan out before, and if, they decide to pay up his contract. |

Only the reviews and then you can have a well earned rest......well apart from further leavers and those incoming and who knows what else. Thanks for all the previews, interviews, referees, history and match reports, not forgetting other occasional pieces and keeping very much in touch with the forum. Very much appreciated and the one consistently 'on form' bit of supporting the Rrrrrs. |

That's a fantastic report, Clive. The contrast between the two systems and their relative merits and defects, strengths and weaknesses and how they affect individual players, as well as he team, brilliantly analysed. Myke, I have absolutely no problem with your comments. I find them interesting and agree with you about Hendrick, up to a point. You also bring them up in a manner that is respectful to the team, as well as eveyone on here and not trying to prove you are everyone's intellectual superior. Clive is, of course correct with the financial situation and how the lack of long term benefit of loan players usually outweighs any short term gain. Last season's loans, however, were successful, transformed the team and were all done with a view to signing permanently. |
 | News Comment | Better but still beaten, QPR continue to unravel - Report at 10:36:42
Watching on a stream and relying on Nick and Andy for what I can't see, I'm undecided on why we were more open at the back, was it mainly because we were trying to force our way back into the game? I think Tactical R has something about Dunne needing an experienced partner. We tend to forget he is still a young player in what, I think, is really his first full season. Totally agree with Myke, keep young Murphy out of the firing line if we possibly can. As for the ref, yes not too bad but his usual lack of activity on time wasting. Didn't see him making much of an effort to speed them up with their throws etc. Only 3 mins added on at the end seemed a couple short to me. It might just have given us another opportunity. |
 | News Comment | That point in the spiral - Preview at 18:30:10
Great analysis Clive. It would be useful for Sir Les, Hoos and the board to take on board the points you make before they make any drastic decision that could come back to bite us. If Warburton has had enough of football management then so be it and we should look no further than John Eustace to try and provide some continuity. |
 | News Comment | But she just smiled and turned away – Report at 15:12:18
Calm and rational analysis as usual Clive. Completely agree with this 'When Harrison Reed decided he fancied a little sit down five minutes from the end the time wasting was so egregious even Ward was in favour of playing on until Rodak threw the ball out to force the issue – under duress from four Fulham players Lee Wallace threw them the ball back after the “treatment” when we should have been doing nothing of the sort' In fact from my seat it looked as if Chair was telling him to give it back. If the ref doesn't stop the game and they throw it out and then make a substitution, why on earth should we give it back? |
 | News Comment | Second half slump incurs Warbs’ wrath – Report at 09:53:59
Well at least we can laugh with you on the irony of it all. Just two points, first imho Hendrick was signed because we haven't been able to rely on Johansen's fitness. Second those Cardiff marks, really? Subs apart, who did turn things around, the rest are a bit high! |
 | News Comment | Smithers, who is this saucy fellow? Referee at 14:51:58
The way that some of our midfielders and defenders were clattering into tackles the other night, it might suit us to have a lenient referee. Expect Mowbray to lose his sh1t very early in the game. |
 | News Comment | Salisbury in charge of Barnsley trip - Referee at 09:41:52
This should go well. With his softly, softly reaction to fouls, his unintentional slowing down of the game by allowing time wasting and long discussions with the players, combined with biblical weather conditions. |
