A win away — Report
at 22:21:35

"You have to wonder whether some people have become so entrenched in their views about QPR and the people running the gaff that they’ve ceased to really be QPR fans at all."

Amen to that.

"We have to stop doing this to fellow sufferers, there are enough enemies out there without making them of each other."

And double amen to that.

Holloway is maddening at times but we're 9 points clear of the relegation zone and some exciting youngsters are getting their chance.

The mid-season report — Column

A great article, really thoughtful analysis.

I think your January transfer plan is very sound but I don't think Ollie has enough credit with fans to survive the tough time that may well follow such a frugal window.

Same old FA Cup story for sorry QPR - Report
at 20:03:01

I've not been a fan of some of Ollie's decision-making this season but I find it hard to blame him for this exit. Even if the tactics weren't ideal, this was still a strong enough team to win the game and the players just didn't get it done.

It is genuinely bizarre that we've remained so consistently bad in the cup through so many different squads and managers.

Each more surprising than the last — Report
at 20:05:27

"Continuing to labour with players who’ve been given ample chance and not done it for us is the risky strategy."

I completely agree. I hope that we can help this by getting behind these youngsters. It's easy going nuts for Smyth on a dream debut but it's more important that we get behind him on those days when he struggles.

It says something about Hoilett's bone idle uselessness that even his assist for the play-off final winner can't save him from the boos. And I remember how excited I was when we signed him. . .

Hill, Faurlin and looking ahead — Ferdinand interview
at 17:44:52

A great interview, I though Les was thoughtful and honest throughout (particularly enjoyed his honesty on the challenge of shifting some of our players!)

He's a club legend with a good plan who's putting something back into the club which made him - let's get behind him!

Tweets, training grounds and tickets - Tony Fernandes interview
at 12:41:59

Brilliant interview, very thorough.

Fair play to Fernandes, I think he made a decent attempt to answer everything. His answers support how I've felt about him for a while - well-meaning guy, heart in the right place but desperately naive. He basically admits in this piece that Arry and Mark H were able to take him for a ride. But there's plenty of evidence both in this interview and in the way the club is starting to do business that he's learning.

QPR battle MK and restless natives for spirited victory — report
at 13:41:32

Superb piece that captures what I imagine a lot of fans are feeling.

How fans act goes a long way to defining a club's identity - with things the way they are at the moment, it becomes harder to see us as a club that you want to get behind.

Beware repeating the same mistakes - preview
at 09:21:12

Excellent piece - a very balanced account of the need to give Ramsey and Ferdinand a proper chance to rebuild the club.

Despite plenty of conversations, I still don't get a clear sense of what most Rs fans think - those who want ramsey gone are certainly louder.

Lacking ideas, shape, commitment or a plan, QPR lose limply at West Ham - report
at 13:12:20

"Fire him, and presumably you risk them downing tools. But, in this case, how much different would it really look if they did down tools?"

Nail hit firmly on the head.

I am a little suprised you didn't mention Leroy Fer - for me, he was the least committed player on the pitch, completely disinterested. I do also think Hoillett's 4 is a tad harsh - he's never been a clever player but I thought he at least tried to beat his man and showed a bit of endeavour.

Find a way - preview
at 22:32:30

While we've been consistently gutless away, the point v Stoke and the win against Sunderland both showed this team at least has a little more spirt than the shambles of 2012/3.

Continue to be so disappointed about the sale of Simpson, had turned his career around last year.

Out of form QPR pick up another defeat, and injury, at Southampton — report

To echo what others have said - the description of the behaviour in the away end makes me much sadder than anything to do with the performance.

Excellent article.

I hadn't really remembered what an astonishing 5 years it's been for the Saints.

Meticulous Mark and the Taffia ride again - opposition profile
at 15:09:41

That Francis quote sums it up very nicely!

I find it hard to blame Fernandes too much for the Hughes debacle. After all, he did what you'd dearly want an owner to do - pick a highly rated manager and back him strongly. Sadly, Fernandes was too naive and new to football to realise he was being taken for a ride. . .

Hallelujah, Dennis Bailey - history
at 16:50:51

I remember crying all the way home after that Cantona goal. In a class full of glory-hunting southern Man U fans, I wanted to stick it to them so much! That hard-working but limited Rs team deserved to pull off the miracle that day.
