Superb as always, Clive - thank you - a great night.

That report from Barrow will have to wait a while.

Oxford - still no way. Just historically wrong - can't think why.
I'll go for Bolton - think they would really struggle.

Who do we want to get relegated?
at 08:13 27 Apr 2024

Yeah I guess it's whoever you feel has the potential to improve the most next year you want down this year. Therefore (unscientifically) Birmingham and Sheff Wed - both big clubs.

No, I don't think this applies, unlike the Prem Lge. If you lose the Championship play-off final you might as well have finished 21st in purely financial terms (minus the Wembley gate receipts obvs).

Professional pride only next week...

Marti-His Part in our Victory-match thread vs Weeds
at 22:24 26 Apr 2024

Remarkable...just remarkable...don't underestimate what a huge achievement this is.

We were Relegated - Relegated with a capital R. In a masochistic way I was already looking forward to Clive's excellent (it would be) away day odyssey at Barrow. A derby with Charlton, and does Stevenage count as one? Hollywood Wrexham to be thrashed by....

How has Marti done this? How have Rangers done this?! Unfathomable - I dont recall a relegation escape like this in 45 years. 1977-78 maybe?; Bowles and Shanks against Arsenal and the 3-0 at Newcastle? Five months we resided in the bottom three this season. 20 weeks or so. It became our resigned home, along with the Millers and the Owls.

Oh how lovely next week is going to be.....

Well done most of all to the fans that went everywhere. I suffered at Watford but it was a short journey home. Others have gone far further regularly and suffered in those awful late summer/autumn days. Blackburn Home. Sunderland Home. Huddersfield away. Fleetwood and Blackpool last season. Well done to you most of all. Drink an Estrella.

Absolutely....remarkable, just remarkable.

I genuinely put this up there with 2010-11 and 2003-04.

FA Cup Replays Scrapped
at 13:55 18 Apr 2024

Was it a third replay for us against Forest in 1978? Epic stuff to a very young fan. 40,000 at the City Ground when Stan scored, apparently.

A real shame but a sign of the times. No surprise at all.

Tbf Rotherham Home too? That, technically, was a six-pointer then.

QPR in the 90's

That's right - wasn't it called 'Concerto for Stan Bowles' IIRC and it was predominantly a saxophone solo? Only heard it once - as said, it came out around the time of the 4-1 over Spurs in 92.

QPR in the 90's
at 12:37 8 Apr 2024

Can only add to the memories already on here. The 4-1 at Old Trafford (Wegerle? should have made it 5-1) has been mentioned plus a superb 4-0 against Man City in the same season - Andy Impey in his pomp - a few days before the 4-1 over eventual champions Leeds.

I remember a 2-1 win against Spurs right at the end of 94-95 when Les got 2 in a raucous atmosphere at LR (a couple of Spurs fans got in the Lower Loft IIRC and it all got a bit nasty for a while?). It was Ray v Gerry in the dugouts as GF was managing Spurs then. Think we were London's top side that season (as well as in 92-93 obvs).

A real sweet (early 90s) n' sour (late 90s) decade if ever there was one.

Free article about former QPR man
at 11:09 4 Apr 2024

Yep, really good read. Gotta say, the description of the 3-3 Bristol City League Cup tie ('QPR supporters still savour that dramatic cup tie until this day...he played a key role during a momentous evening in the club’s recent history') maybe a tad overegging the pudding (?), but a very good article nonetheless.

It was those pesky Romans (who did nothing for us), wasn't it? Or those Greeks? Or the Egyptians? Dunno.
