I wouldn’t feel sorry for him on his salary. I feel sorry for the regular supporters with another underwhelming appointment. I’ve been relatively optimistic about survival, but in light of this news and also the what is, in effect, confirmation of no additional personnel signed in January sounds very mech like the nails being hammered home on the season. I hope that I am wrong. There is no guarantee of any ‘reset’ by going down. |

For someone who was went to Sorrento in 06. I personally don’t remember the players engaging with the supporters at all. In fact the only person that spent some time talking to us candidly was Paladini. Said some interesting stuff about Danny Shittu. What I do recall was that the squad was split into individuals and groups/cliques. Some, like Shimmin, were just left to themselves. While new boy Nick Ward was allows into the senior players group. I didn’t get any sense of togetherness out there and this was the case on the pitch that season. |

Even by LFW standards that was the most smug, patronising comment for a long time. It’s bad enough watching the matches without worrying about what us going on outside the ground. I’m really surprised that there hasn’t been much more robust interaction between fans and players/management in the past few weeks. |
