Palace put price tag on Eze

20% of the selling price. Not the profit!

Whether anyone has actually seen that in the transfer agreement we don't know!

So near and yet so far - History
at 10:01 25 Apr 2024

Once again, The Wolves - Liverpool match was not played on that date due to Wales playing a European Champions Cup quarter final & NOT Liverpool's European games. They lost 2-0 in the first leg away to Yugoslavia.

It should also be stated (again) that Leeds asked for a postponement of our game for the same reason, but were refused. I understood that Leeds had one less player in the squad than was needed to postpone

* Sorry about getting heavy handed with this, but it is a misrepresentation that has always annoyed me. Even more so as I grow older! It's also possible that Liverpool would have been allowed to postpone their game due to their European Final if Wales hadn't been playing.

Apart from that, it was a brilliant day & the only time I've stepped onto the Loftus Road pitch.

But an indirect free kick is better than a goal. It might have benn a sending off though!

Lids v Boro

It possibly is, but Dunne wouldn't deserve to be left out of the side. Can Cannon play at left back?

Gnonto & Summerville are the biggest threats & how we handle this pair might have a major effect on the game.

We are not safe!!!

Possibly not, but Sunderland & Blackburn didn't let in a goal against Leeds recently.

The same Blackburn defence that let in 5 at Bristol City & 3 against Wednesday!

Lids v Boro
at 09:54 23 Apr 2024

I'm fairly sure that we will defend a lot better than Middlesbrough did last night!

The Hayden, Field, Colback midfield trio looks the right selection to me, but I wouldn't have a clue who would be the best bet at left back. As Leeds won't be going aerial, I suspect that Fox would be caught out for pace by Gnonto, but Paal would need to improve his defensive positioning a lot from recently. IF he would sit five yards deeper Paal would be my man, but will he?

The last thing IMO that we should do is revert to playing Armstrong & knocking all balls into the channels for him to chase. Leeds would love us to do that & would give them continual pocession.

The 2024 relegation thread-oh: Match 45.
at 10:04 22 Apr 2024

Useless Sunderland did win at Leeds last week.

I read many posts last week that stated that Huddersfield had an easy match at home to Swansea as well!

The one thing that I think is probable, is that no club will be going through the motions like as happened in the past.

Bloody hell Mr Sheen! I can still recall Wakefield's greatest player missing his kick from right in front of the posts. I do't think Trinity have won anything since that day!

IF they win the Championship this season, will they be back in Super League next year, or would the closed shop have come into play?

I believe it was his entry into the competition of which Championship goalkeeper can make the worst mistake!

IMO he takes first position.

I think you make the perfect case as to why Coventry should have been playing yesterday rather than today!

Will 50 points mean safety? Prediction competition

And was the Birmingham performance at Rotherham any better? In theory Huddersfield can still survive, so it will be far from a given that Brum avoid defeat.

Personally, I expect Birmingham to win, but it wouldn't be a surprise if they lost.

Thank you Marti Cifuentes.

He did indeed!

It was a great challenge he made when the Preston player looked as if he might be free & approaching Begovic.

I doubt that any of us on this board thought that we could reach 50 points when Marti took over. This has been an incredible achievment!

Probably most of you felt differently, but the only time I was concerned that Preston would score today was when Begovic made his very important save in the first half.

Cook, Clarke-Salter, Field & Colback were immense.

And against The Pensioners in the third round.

I missed the game as I went home from work "sick" (afternoon due to 3 day week/electricity cuts), for it to be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. I didn't think I could repeat that move when it was played!

Loftus Road journey
at 10:03 19 Apr 2024

1967-1980 I stood just behind the goal (Ellerslie Road side) in The Loft
1980/81 Sat in the School End (LR being converted & this was the home end)
1982 Upper Loft
1983-2002 I attended very few games
2002-2004 Anywhere I could get a ticket for!
2004-2006 Ellerslie Road (the only area I could buy a season ticket)
2006-2018 Upper Loft block K
2018 onwards Upper Loft - back row of block M

My current seat is the best position I've had since the glory days of standing on The Loft!

FA Cup Replays Scrapped
at 15:11 18 Apr 2024

Something I don't understand is why they are continuing with replays for the qualifying rounds.

Personally, I'm all in favour of replays (multiple at that), but many a replay in the early stages of the competition results in the losing clubs making a loss. It used to be both clubs, but the prize money is definitely worth winning!

But they've not had any coverage of the FA Cup for many a year.

There are many things they are guilty of, but the scrapping of FA Cup replays is surely not one of them.

This will always remain as one of my favourite games!

I have compared this season many times with the 2006/07 one. Hopefully we will repeat the victories against Preston & away to Coventry!
