Well this the reply I got when I expressed my disgust.

Bill Rice is on radio.manchester@bbc.co.uk if you wish to let him know your view too.

Thank you very much for your email.

As you know we have a wealth of football in this patch - seven league clubs in total, and so I want to try and give you a bit of context. We cover all our local football league clubs by sending reporters to all league games on a Saturday and at other times. We report on all matches providing live reports, local interviews with managers and players and news in our sport bulletins. We have commentary deals with six of them, although these deals do differ in terms of how many games we can do full commentary on during a season, due to increasing financial restrictions.

We choose our commentary games very carefully - making editorial decisions on the game itself, the fan base of the clubs involved, other factors such as local derbies and the relevance of the game and what is at stake. Even if your club is not the commentary game, we still have reports on the other games frequently during commentary.

This season already we have done commentary of games involving Manchester City, Wigan, Rochdale, Bolton, Oldham and Salford, as well as City and United's Womens' matches too. All clubs are featured across the season, but inevitably some more than others, given what I've explained, but we do care about all our local clubs and endeavour to give the best coverage possible.

Same reply as everyone else has had.

Why don’t they just say they have a deal to broadcast Bolton more often instead of covering it up with bluster?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

"...Other factors such as local derbies …"

Ah yes, so that the likes of Gowling can refer to Bolton's local derby opponents as 'the opposition'.

Local broadcasting at its absolute finest.

Alan Partridge, Alan Gowling, the obsequious references to 'Super John', Jack Dearden - a fine pool of objectivity right there.

A wonderful 0-0 draw against Grimsby to slaver over

In other news, Morecambe sit 2pts clear at the top of the table. Their manager, Derek Adams, must have something going for him to get them up and running like that

The programme today started with 15 minutes all about Bolton, including the team news.

At quarter-past-two, that Bradford bloke said, "I suppose we'd better bring you the teams from all today's local games, starting with our BIG MATCH COMMENTARY, Bolton Wanderers v Grimsby Town."

Dearden and McGinlay then proceeded to tell us how Harry Kewell was already getting his excuses in early at Oldham, whereas Evatt was turning things round at Bolton.

"Turning things round = one win all season"

And then Steve Eyre joined the conversation...

UPDATE (Phone-in) - "Let's get another Bolton fan on"

It's Bolton v Oldham next Saturday. Wonder what the commentary game will be?

I wouldn't mind betting they take the opportunity to feature one of the other local teams that they regularly focus on.....maybe Oldham?

It’s getting to the stage where, although I have nothing at all against the club, I would love Bolton to go down.
Would they send a commentary team to Bromley or Boreham Wood?

Just looked at the stats as well in the game or the day.
Neither Bolton nor Grimsby mustered a single shot on target between them.
Wonder what SuperJohn found to talk about?

In a masterly piece of padding during the initial 20 minute Bolton-fest at 2pm, Super John was asked who his best manager ever was. We were then treated to a mercifully short and distracted account of life under Bruce Rioch. Hugely irrelevant.

Anything to maintain the Bolton theme, it seems.

Radio Lancs had 3 simultaneous live commentaries yesterday afternoon (Accy, Morecambe and Blackpool) Two on their different FM frequencies and one on DAB. I assume Radio Manc had a choice of two commentaries (FM and DAB)?
I can't get the DAB signal where I live but if they don't have alternative commentaries that is bad.

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

Last season for a while they had match commentary on FM with updates from other matches while having continuous updates from each of the non commentary matches on DAB, which was better than having to listen to boring Bolton.
