The cost to the club of Bottomley staying 17:52 - Apr 10 with 9261 viewsdawlishdale

I urge everyone to post on here if they will not be getting a season ticket for next year if Bottomley is still at the club. Please keep a running total based purely on the cost of season tickets at this years prices.

It's time he was shown how much his awful tenure is costing in the genuine hope that he does the decent thing and resigns.

There's 3 of us All Adults in the Main Stand. We won't be buying unless Bottomley goes.

Disgusting.

Rochdale fans encouraging other Rochdale fans to withhold money from our club to assist its death.

There are ways and means of achieving our goals without destroying the club in the process.

Imagine the wage budget we would be starting next season with if you all got your way.

You should be ashamed of yourselves.

The cost to the club of Bottomley staying on 19:35 - Apr 10 by 49thseason

I can't bring myself to refuse to buy a season ticket if I have to, but I can't stand by and see the club die either. Many years ago , my old pal Sam Shrouder sent his holiday money to the save Southport fund. In the event, the club went out of the league and Sam went on to great things in the entertainment world before eventually going back to Southport as Chairman. I am starting to feel like he did at that dark time. But, Bottomley or not, we cannot allow them the excuse of not selling enough STs.

The survival of the club is the first order of business and if that means putting up with Bottomley and the rest until they can be replaced, so be it. I will support the efforts of Mr Dunphy in any way I can, I am not a shareholder but would willingly swap my ST money for shares to support him if it would help.

The Trust needs to decide which side it is on in all this too, as again, I would donate to a fund for the trust to use to buy shares if it were required to support the ousting of the current board. but until there is clarity from the Dunphy camp and from the current board, I think we should all keep our money safe and our powder dry until we know which way the wind is blowing.

These are difficult days to be a Dale supporter, not days for rash decisions but instead, days to create the alliances needed, the lines of communication and to figure out what it will take to keep the club alive and fit for the coming fights. We need clear, unequivocal statements of intent. by all the parties... Dunphy, Board, Americans and Trust and we the fans must choose carefully which horse to back.

A better shout right now I think, is to find those people on here who have shares and try to create another large shareholding group similar to the Trust. Divided we fall, United we have strength.

Thank the lord there are rational and logical fans still out there

That's precisely what this thread isn't doing, 1907

There's another thread calling for a boycott, which attempts to do that, and if you'd bothered to take proper notice you'd see that this thread - by contrast - is simply individual fans who're posting their own, freely made and perhaps temporary decision to withhold their cash until the current regime is no more

That's a perfectly valid and reputable thing to do, and furthermore, it's prompted what could well turn out to be a exercise in fan solidarity with OUR club in that moneys could be held in trust until such time as we have new leadership, and i'd remind you, there are documented and serious efforts underway in that direction

Put your disgust away - it's uncalled for and inappropriate

No one is, has or will encourage me to do so.
I have my own will and will exercise it in a way of my own choosing.
This is a club I no longer recognise from when I used to watch home and away since 1985.

There is no difference in this post or the other.

This post is literally a tally chart of how much money the club won’t be getting next season.

If you choose to stand by that, shame on you.

Your club needs you more than ever & you are choosing to turn your back on it, it’s absolutely disgusting.

I’ve always had you down as a bit of a weapon D-Alien but you have outdone yourself supporting this.

Rochdale fans reading this post, please don’t withdraw your support from your club. There are ways and means of removing our incompetent CEO & board. Let’s not further impact our team in the process.

No, shame on you 1907

There's been a groundswell of ideas around a proposal for fans to put their ST money into a fund which (properly managed) would allow the club all the support it needs and more - once the current regime has gone

There's the moves being made and notified on here by a former Chairman. Having such a fund ready to be utilised in the best way once the club is under new leadership would give a massive boost to efforts to get rid of the current incumbents

Failing to understand that and maligning fans for having an honest appraisal of where they stand - as individuals, not on a bandwagon - is a huge failure on your part, not theirs

It’s not my club any more...it’s become someone’s ego trip.

I am a shareholder but not a season ticket holder because I don’t live near enough to go to home games on a regular basis.

But I would be willing to commit to buying one next season if Dunphy was to be running the show and we got rid of Yerman bottomley and his buddies. I would happily donate it to some charity to allow somebody to attend.

Pouring hard earned cash into the current club is not going to save it.

What are the ways and means of removing the current CEO and board, given that we are no more than "virtual" supporters and will remain so until August at least? ? Our current CEO is paid quite a handsome salary as are many of the recent off field appointments that he has made. Do you think your season ticket money will be going towards the playing budget or will it, firsf and foremost, be used to cover these outgoings?

There is nothing to be gained here by falling out with each other. Everyone has an opinion and in this situation, airing them is fine , and respecting different positions is also fine.
What we do need is information:
1. How far along the road to an EGM is Dunphy, I have to presume he has backers in place if he is not actually still a shareholder.

2. Until there has been a board meeting nothing much can change materially

3. How will we find out if there is to be an EGM if we are not shareholders? Will the Trust keep us ALL informed?

4. Ideally we need to see a copy of the Club's Articles of Incorporation which will contain the requirements to hold an EGM and the requirements to remove Directors. without sight of this we don't know the scale of what is needed. Presumably the Trust has a copy, will it post it on the Trust website? If not can someone else?

5.As and when an EGM is announced, we need to lobby the shareholders we know or can find to support the re-instatement of Chris Dunphy and other willing Directors to the Board either by attending the meeting or more likely by Proxy voting. Is the trust prepared to become the Proxy for those shareholders who cannot / will not attend an EGM? There needs to be a very clear statement by the Trust about where they stand on the issue of the re-instatement of Dunphy. I.e. will they use their shares to vote for Dunphy's reinstatement. Bearing in mind if it fails, they will have poisoned the well.

To be clear, the boardroom issues may not be solved by threats of withholding season ticket monies, its a threat that may or may not have the desired effect and which, if carried out, may force more decisions no one likes or wants. Does it bring pressure to bear, yes, can the current board ignore it , yes , What they cannot ignore is shareholder pressure and demands for an EGM. For non shareholders we have to find the people who have shares and persuade them that they now need to act to preserve the Club. Shareholders who pressure Directors with the threat of removal carry far more weight than mere "customers".

Pouring hard earned cash into the current club right now means boosting the bank accounts of certain individuals who least deserve it and who are the major contributors towards its decline. If some want to pay for more ineptitude, go right ahead. See where it gets the club.

Can't argue with the share holders rights, but it appears share holders are not being responded to.

There is a game of brinkmanship developing on the under card of the Dunphy v current board bout.

No. Hard earned cash is what has and always will keep our club going, paying the gas & electric and players wages. The minute people decide to get all militant to try and withhold it will be a dark day for the club, not Bottomley.

It worked for Blackpool, and the loyalty of fans wasn't in question, just their refusal to fund the Oyston regime

If only bury fans had taken a similar stance, the SD's would've had nothing to work with and bury would still be playing in the EFL now

Correct.

It’s clear to all his tenure has been a disaster & the board is at a loss at present. There are more productive ways to impact change other than hamstringing us even further next season.

I do not support DB or the current board. I also do not want fans to do even more damage to our perilous financial position.

I appreciate your position but feel there is only one way to focus attention and that is on there being a cost for taking for granted the cash flow afforded by the influx of season ticket money that will become available immediately Bottomley is gone. That is the plan.

1907-we are not bury fans, there should be no one up manship, personal insults, disrespecting other's opinions.

The two threads are to view our concerns at the state of our club and try as we can to put pressure on the inept leadership on and off the pitch in the absence of our voices at matches.

That decline, for which those individuals have seemingly been rewarded, will cost the club far more financially (playing in league 2 next season) than if ALL season ticket holders were to not renew i would suspect. Will those individuals responsible be taking a pay cut next season commensurate with our loss of income?

Utter rubbish.

We have Chris Dunphy, our most successful ever Chairman, with thirty years experience on various Rochdale boards, waiting in the wings.

He's said what he will do with the Board as it is currently.

He has people alongside him who have considerable experience with football, the town of Rochdale and in general life.

Any Dale fan who temporarily witholds their season ticket money strengthens Dunphy's bid.

As many have said on here - when there is leadership change there will be a step change in returning to support the leadership which is evidently lacking.
