Why is the lease, negotiated by former Hornets directors "so full of holes"? Were they useless? Has that poster seen said lease? He seems to imagine m’learned friends will help his winsome fantasy. That's an interesting post in there in that it names 2 names. Unless the poster has used their real name at the top of the thread it risks being taken down.

Not winding us up, more like pissing my sides laughing at the stupidity of some of the most pathetic and stupid people on the internet. They provide great entertainment, similar in entertainment value to the supporters of the football club formerly known as Bury FC. None of the rugby fans I know blame the Dale for anything that is happening to the rugby club. |  |

I suspect the Englad v Fiji game was outside the terms of the lease with Hornets and based on a separate agreement.
It could be that given the time period since the original date for the gameDale have set a new price. The agreement for the original gamewill have been negotiated by the previous board.
Given we are a ‘fan owned’ club its perhaps important the fans are provided with information on what has happened and why….if only to deal with the negative publicity that will come with this unfortunate development. | | | |

Due to Covid-19, the 2021 fixture was postponed on public safety grounds and rescheduled to 2022.
Following a request by the CEO of Rochdale Council to both parties to do our best to agree a commercial agreement which covered all safety considerations and in the spirit of a working relationship, Head of Terms for the international fixture were provided by RAFC to Andy Mazey and Steve Kerr of Rochdale Hornets in March 2022.
These terms were never accepted. Instead on 19 April 2022, Rochdale Hornets chose to launch a legal action under the 2016 Lease against RAFC relating to the fixture pre-action letter of claim sent in accordance with the Practice Direction Pre-Action Conduct and Protocols of the Civil Procedure Rules 1998.
That legal action was subsequently withdrawn by Rochdale Hornets on 21 June 2022, since as there was no commercial agreement ever in place to host an international fixture and that the fixture was not covered by the 2016 Lease, there was and is no obligation forced on RAFC to host an international fixture without full safety provisions being in place alongside due commercial compensation for all costs doing so given the safety certificate for the international fixture and thus responsibilities under it all fall on RAFC.
Rochdale Council look to have tried to get parties to work together.

Here's some help for questions they might want to ask Mazey and Kerr:
1. Unfortunately, new terms proposed by Rochdale AFC render the event commercially unviable, and despite significant efforts to overcome this, Rochdale Hornets are now unable to host the event.
What were the terms and how come if playing the game at Rochdale was unviable, how can playing it at Salford be more viable?
2. We wanted to bring England to the borough of Rochdale and our ambition was to stage an event similar to the sell-out Ireland versus Fiji fixture in 2013.
Why were the terms offered not accepted if that "want" was real?
3. This is important, as any tickets transferred directly benefit Rochdale Hornets and will support our hosting costs.
Why do tickets for a game in Salford benefit Rochdale Hornets when Rochdale Hornets could not agree a deal AND sent a legal letter having been offered terms?
