We seem to have this sentimentality about our club which prevents us from getting rid of any home grown players who are clearly not and never will be PL quality.

Your last point is correct and this is an issue. So many chances most days yet a poor conversion rate.

Take another look and you'll see that Shelvey had an excellent game. He made some killer passes and some good tackles.

Shockingly disappointing result in a game that for large parts we dominated.
Poor again at right full back - we have to hope we strengthen there in the window, also Tremmel is a real step down from Fabianski who I feel could have got there for the first goal and possibly for the second as well, although difficult to see past Jazz's fannying about for the second. Having said that, God we missed some chances. For all that Bony is a great centre forward, he doesn't half miss some golden opportunities. Had a real feeling throughout that that it wasn't going to be our day. Hard to be too critical overall given our performance in a lot of the game, but left with feeling of 'if only'. If not then i feel it wasn't the smartest move, another big call was taking off our best defender in Wilf Bony with 6 mins to go, there was just no need to do that, he makes more defensive clearences than both Ash and Bartley combined !!
We got mugged good and proper today, we need to start controlling the ball better too, there was a time in the second half when spurs just couldn't get out, it was like old school Swans for a while, making them chase not the other way around!
Alot of work to do IMO its clear to see our defensive frailty has been masked by Fabianski . |  | | |
