I'll speak for myself thanks, I'm better at it ;).

No, there were times Gomis came in, scored and should have either started the next game or had more than 10 mins at the end. Also there were times when Wilf wasn't working up front. Monk had his favourite and froze Gomis out. He should have found a way to get him more minutes and failed to do so. Gomis is now feeling justified in acting the Minge to force a move.

Absolutely. Let's play an inferior striker and sacrifice a few points just to keep him happy.

Gomis is top dog for the rest of the season. Time to show us what he is made of.

Monk has a long record of saying that if a player doesn't want to be here they can go...

I wouldn't expect Gomis to be here at the end of Jan if these quotes from him are right.

I agree, i think he's a very talented player. Also, nobody can accuse him of not putting the effort in either, he looks up for it to me.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Monk does have to take responsibility for freezing him out for half a season, regardless of promises made. Now, it seems whatever smoke Monk blows up Gomis' arse he isn't having it and is forcing a move for his own ends. Bad show all around really.

I wonder if it was Monk that told him that promise or the leeching agent that is trying to force another move to make him richer?

No, don't agree with that at all. It smacks of yet another desperate excuse to have a go at Monk and the reasons for doing so are becoming more and more bizarre, especially when we've got a 5-0 home defeat to chew over. Bony played the majority of games because he was the best striker we had. If playing your best striker, and indeed the leading Premier League goalscorer of the year, amounts to "freezing out" the other guy who's not scoring as many goals then I'm fairly happy with what happened there. I'm not knocking Gomis because his opportunities have been limited and when called upon he's done well enough but we played Bony because he's better than Gomis and was more likely to score goals. I can't think of many, if any, occasions where this forum was crying out for Gomis to start ahead of Bony. Indeed, on the few occasions that did happen (QPR away being the most recent example) Monk was royally slated on here and elsewhere in the wonderful world of internet football fandom for, yes, not playing our best striker from the start.

Gomis also missed 6 clear cut golden chances at Chelsea, QPR and City, whilst Bony was scoring like a rabbit on Viagra, but of course that won't be in his thinking.

You really need to get over this crying wolf about people's motivations when valid criticisms are made. It's intellectually lazy. I can only speak for myself, but I made the point about his freezing Gomis out on numerous occasions up to this point, suspecting this might happen and now it has. My opinion has been consistent all the way through.

I think what was supposed to happen was bony was going to Liverpool that didn't happen gomis was originally bought as replacement but was told don't worry we will rotate you or play both of you as has been said somewhere but that never happened so gomis is understandably pissed off

It's only crying wolf when it's not true. You haven't made a valid criticism, in my opinion, you've found an excuse to take a dig at Monk. That's my view and I'm happy to stick with it. It would be "intellectually lazy" if I hadn't countered the point you made about "freezing out" Gomis with valid counterpoints, but I did. It's fairly obvious why Gomis hasn't started many games this season, and that's because we had Wilfried Bony on our books. I can't remember you talking about Gomis being "frozen out" before nor can I remember you or anyone else crying out for him to start ahead of Bony but I'll take you at your word. You've never been one for inconsistent hysteria but strange things have happened to people on here since Monk got the job.

Can't for one minute believe the club would make such promises to anyone.

No club can make that promise to any player. You can't just guarantee a place, regardless of form.

If he's been led to believe he'd play no matter what and is now peed off that he hasn't then he can bog off...

reading what's been said lately I've been thinking it was his agent, but he seems to be at it as well.

We don't need players like this.

I can believe promises were made. Surely Gomis would have asked the question when he signed? He's clearly someone who isn't happy sitting on the bench picking up a wedge every week so it must be important to him

Gomis finishing has been cows arse/banjo like. That may or may not improve with game time. He hasnt really done well enough in his games so far to justify a pout. If we sold him for the figures being mentioned, I certainly wouldnt shed any tears.

i did say that I take you at your word mun. Although the reaction if we'd kept Bony benched while Gomis played himself into some form would have been interesting. I don't get the notion that you keep the League's hottest striker on the bench while another player finds some form. Monk would have been (metaphorically) lynched if he'd done so and quite right too. As I said, on the few occasions Gomis did start ahead of Bony (and missed a fair few chances) there was an outcry here and elsewhere.

I suppose the theory that we expected to lose Bony in the summer and bought Gomis as a direct replacement, leading to him thinking he was going to be numero uno has some legs but it is only a theory. And it still doesn't alter the fact that while Bony was on our books he was always going to be our first pick striker. You don't leave a goal machine like Bony on the bench just to give the other guy some game time.

In a few games there were some people claiming that.Bony was getting pissed off because he was doing the hard work of softening up the defence for Gomis to come on and look good. As for promises of playing time that sounds like a complete joke. I smell agent.

I must be the only one on here who wouldn't care a jot if he left...

Tidy type player with a nice trap and turn, very average in front of goal so far, will need someone alongside him to see the best out of him, that doesn't suit our current system, he obviously likes to sign big signing on fees, then flaunt himself to all & sundry, any interest shown and he starts the big pout about "broken promises".

I don't care what he was bloody promised, for the £70,000 a week he's on without the big fat signing on fee he received, I'd expect him to do what's he told, act professionally and keep his big mouth shut... 😡

Promises do not form parts of a contract. These promises that are being spoken about are hear say at best (effectively one persons word against another)

Chris Wathan of the Western Mail believes he has deciphered the translation whereby it also suggests Gomis has stated that he has spoken to St Etienne, so in my eyes breaching contract.

I don't want this guy anywhere near the club, we should get rid of him now and if there is enough evidence sue the sod!

Still following Dr's orders!

'Freezing' some one out means leaving them in the reserves and not including them in any of the first team squad activities, in football terms at least.
