How many more wins to be safe? 17:50 - Jan 24 with 6292 viewsJack123

I feel quite chuffed after today's result, but it suddenly dawned on me, how quick things can change..We are looking a lot rosier now, like I even read the Sunderland forum earlier, and they have gone from Swansea are down.. too we are not even mentioned.., and it's others now lol, but there is still work too be done.

My guess is 37 points this year.. to survive :)

We have a tough last 7 games, so we need to get as many points as we can before then.

Their next game is Bournemouth at home though so I don't mind a Palace win.

Very rare for a team that has 10 wins going down.

4 wins it is then ..........with a few draws to make life easier

I think at least 40 needed this year.

Villa and Sunderland I think will struggle to get 30 points

Newcastle are playing some good football very unlucky away to Arsenal can see them getting around 40.
Norwich will pick up unexpected points and be near 40 also.
Bournemouth will be fine and playing well easy 40 points.
WBA I think will struggle and hopefully get dragged into it if we beat them next up.

I think we will get 41/42

So 4 wins and 4 draws

Last season Hull were relegated on 35 points. I say 40.

5 more wins.

Could be just three. Draw a third of the other games and we've got 38 points.

Think we'll get a fair bit more than this though.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that this years points tally for safety will be any higher than previous years. 38pts will see us in the prem next season.

Yeah, four would pretty much do it when you factor in a few draws. As others have said, today's unexpected win makes things look a lot healthier.

Norwich have shipped at least three goals in their last four games. Not a good time to be having a defensive crisis. Could find themselves getting cut adrift with the Villa if they don't tighten up.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I tend to agree. 38 is plenty almost always. 3 more wins and a few draws and we'll be fine. And unlike others , I don't see us getting many more points than that, if at all.

The reason I go 40 is that I expect Villa and Sunderland to finish on a low point count and more points going around to the others.

It may be like 02/03 when you needed 43 points to stay up although I hope not.

Yeah, was going to say that three more wins will put us on 34. Another 3/4 draws on top of that to give us 37/38 which is usually enough. Definitely an achievable target if we keep up the recent performance levels.
