Brief reasons for and against Rodgers 09:51 - May 3 with 2145 views | dickythorpe | For - he knows the club inside out, a "recognised" manager, experienced with the PL Against - we've moved on as has the game, he has favourites, gone a bit "too cool for school" [Post edited 3 May 2016 9:51]

Brief reasons for and against Rodgers on 10:16 - May 3 with 1511 views | Pegojack | I was thinking about this earlier. Can anyone name a Premiership manager who has gone back to a previous club and been successful? I can't. Success in our terms would be finishes in the upper middle table, and perhaps a good shot at a cup.

He'll probably turn up at the Glamorgan Health Club on his first day.

He was here for two very successful years in all fairness and a lot of the playing staff are still the same (although that may need changing before long). Good manager, I'm sure he would do a decent job here. I'm far from convinced he is better than Guidolin, not to mention whoever else may be available on the summer. I didn't mention it in the pros and cons bit, but the fact he hasn't managed abroad doesn't help him. The domestic market is saturated with average players unless you want to pay through the teeth for quality. No matter how much time he spends watching football in foreign countries, he isn't going to know the hidden talents in any given league as well as a manager who has worked in it.

Brief reasons for and against Rodgers on 11:45 - May 3 with 1319 views | JethroJack | Against.... He's vertically challenged. He'll be off again at the drop of a hat. He wouldn't take us on when the going was tough. He's got a ladies name (for those on here who take the piss...or can't spell). We can't afford to buy Gnasher. Americans have sacked him once already. For... He just might persuade Joey to come home. Nothing else. GIVE GUIDO THE GIG...those of us who know our football know it makes sense 😜 [Post edited 3 May 2016 11:47]

(Didn't mean to quote) Forgetting all the reasons that make people sound like jilted lovers... Pro's - He's a good man manager who will get the best out of our current players - He will be a popular choice with our current squad (like it or not, it's important) - He will play attractive football - Very much respected in the game - He has a lot to prove after Liverpool - What he did at Liverpool was consistent with the way they've been for over 20 years - The much lauded Klopp isn't doing that much better there than he did - He has a good working relationship with HJ - I think his philosophy fits with the club - He will give young players a chance - Joey - Could be a decent Liverpool youngster we could get our hands on Cons - Question marks over his success in the transfer market (huge issue) - Does he have the contacts abroad to pick up cheap and successful signings - e.g. Michu, Chico, JDG etc - Ego may rub some up the wrong way - Will he stick around? - Potentially not the clean brush we need - Does he have a plan B yet? - Does he still always play his favourites? - Expensive option [Post edited 3 May 2016 12:43]

Brief reasons for and against Rodgers on 13:03 - May 3 with 1171 views | monmouth | Decent middling manager. Depends what we want. If our ambition is to max out at 10th and get to the odd QF of the cup I'd say he's a reasonable choice. If we want more we need better.

Brief reasons for and against Rodgers on 13:05 - May 3 with 1165 views | builthjack | Perhaps the agreement with him was: Go and do some scouting for 8 months, and come June, if we are in the PL, you can rejoin us. He will have the targets ready, in fact talks could be ongoing as we speak. Perhaps, or perhaps not.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Brief reasons for and against Rodgers on 13:36 - May 3 with 1116 views | JackFish | If Rodgers is a done deal and is definitely coming back in the summer, the club should announce it before the Man City game so we can at least give Guidolin a decent send off.

No chance that Huw Jenkins would be that sincere, look at what he's done to people he's supposedly friends with, Huw Cooze is one example, really disappointed in him over what he been he's been doing behind people's backs he's casting a huge cloud over his legecy.

Brief reasons for and against Rodgers on 14:53 - May 3 with 972 views | Legend83 | I think Rodgers is the easy choice for the Board. My biggest concern is whether has the nous in the transfer market to re-build a team. Ash, Rangel, Britton, Routledge all need succession planning which is a very difficult task. On the other hand he knows the "ethos" of the club and perhaps will look to attract players who are a fit.
Brief reasons for and against Rodgers on 15:06 - May 3 with 945 views | A_Fans_Dad | For, is pretty good with an already "sorted" team. Against, is pretty poor when a team needs sorting, as ours does. I don't think he has the depth of knowledge and contacts that Guidolin has.
