So far the players we are linked with appear in the main to be ones that we have been linked with before and are definitely ones identified before Clement arrived.

We were linked with a bid for Arias 2 years ago.

No surprise there. If that's the case and they fail Huws days must be numbered.

He shouldn't be having a say, he should keep his big interfering snout out of Transfers and first team affairs, in fact it would be best if he fuked off completely.

That is fine by me. As long as they improve our team then it's a positive.. plus it seems like they have at least waited for Clement to assess.
It doesn't take a genius to see we are weak at full back and that our wingers aren't fulfilling potential.

The fact that the player is quoted as saying this should count very much in our favour: "But it is important that there is a sufficient prospect of playing time. If there is nothing, I’ll stay here. I’ve already played over a hundred appearances for PSV. That’s not crazy, right?” All the other clubs he's been linked to have quality right backs already or in the pipeline. His best chance of game time is with us.
Judging by youtube clips he's very much an attacking full back with plenty of pace and an eye for goal. If there's one position where we need a first team addition (Naughton is fine as a squad player) then it's at right back. Looks very promising. Go for it I say.
Perhaps we needs to sign Danny Ings (not too bad a shout if he's recovered actually) while we're at it...

I'll post a full game to judge him by if you've never seen PSV play. He is an attacking fullback, and a much-needed improvement on Naughton.
I would approve this move, but can't imagine Jenkins is doing it for £12m. He'll try to haggle, Spurs will sell Walker and Arias will go there, HJ will say he tried, and we lost out again to a big club and nothing could be done. We'll end up signing the Barnsley guy for more than he's worth and realize pretty soon he's not up to PL standard. So, we'll be stuck with Naughton and 35-year old Rangel again next season.
Pessimistic view, obviously, but I'm smelling a lot of bbullsshitt with this "link". I hope I am wrong. In all honesty, though, I still prefer Capa over Arias and think we should be trying to get him first.

Thanks, E20. Not every player, far from it. But a lot, yes, and some quite a bit.
I grew up playing football and achieved a fair amount of success doing so. I don't play competitively anymore so I fill a lot of my downtime watching the game, and I tend to focus on the better leagues/clubs/players. Mostly Germany, Spain, and CL because of the superb play but I also watch the best teams in other European leagues, particuarly exciting ones with talented young players.
I don't have unlimited time to do this and don't know everything. I don't, for example, watch very much of the Championship, as I find it boring and low on quality. But yes, I probably watch too much football. In doing this, I have "scouted" many players, often rather thoroughly. I come to my own conclusions about their talent and how they would fit in with the Swans. I then share some of that on here if on subject or feel it worthy of inclusion.
But thank you, genuinely. It's always nice to be called a superhero every now and then.

My PSV supporting mate who told me Narsingh was injury prone and inconsistent ( see no reason to disagree with him with what we have seen) tells me Arias is a very good player & is surprised we are the only ones who have had communication about the player with PSV (reported in Dutch press)

He would be right on both ends from what I've seen, as well.
Probably caught about 12-15 PSV games the past couple seasons, and his assessment reflects what I've seen. Narsingh does have quality though (see: goal against Bayern).
Arias has looked great in attack when I've seen him, although sometimes gives up possession too easily. He can appear shaky in defence at moments, but I feel that has more to do with the laziness of attackers in the Eredivisie. Not much tracking back takes place, so it's hard to gauge fullbacks.
Like I said, I'd be ecstatic if we got him. And I highly doubt we're the only ones in contact, I'm sure the big boys have reached out to him. It seems he is waiting for a few moves to be made first, or is looking for a guaranteed starting role.
We can do that for him, and we should be stressing that in any talks. I'd still prefer Capa, but Arias is a talent worth signing. Does your friend have an opinion on Jorrit Hendrix? I like the guy's game, what say PSV fans?

£12m seems a lot for us to pay for a RB but if he can do on that flank what Olsson has done on the left then maybe it's a deal worth doing. I'm happy enough with Naughton but he looks like a fair upgrade. Would possibly take some of the pressure off to add another wide man to the squad too.
Still think a hell of a lot depends on what Llorente decides to do.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
