Just bought a doggy privately off a couple who've just had a baby and they wanted to get rid of the dog. She's the same age as our current doggy (6) and they're both getting on like a house on fire, her name is Missy and she's part chihuahua and part daschund.
She's just had a nice warm bath and she's running around the living room.

I can understand your frustration but similar happened to me, we where turned down from the dog we initially chose online, but Sylvia and team could not have been more supportive and explaining why our original choice wouldn't be suitable. Also helping us chose an alternative and into the paddock where Du basically chose us.

5 years on, ex er indoors got the house and I got Du, couldn't be happier!

Actually thinking of popping down to MT next week to do some volunteering, been before and brings a tear to the eye that you cant bring them all home!

Wonderful organisation!

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

What happened with Many Tears?

The missus and I went there shortly after our dog dies in 2010 as we wanted to adopt but they wouldn't let us as we both work all day. Pissed me right off as any we adopted dog would have had a loving home rather than being stuck in kennels.

Edit: Just read your post in the other thread. Absolutely ridiculous.

Thought it would be obvious working all day, not a good environment for a dog... obviously dont know personal circumstances!

Yeah pissed me right off.
When we appealed it and told them they were basically wrong they came back with a different reason.

Well ours doesn't seem to mind.

He's quite content sleeping on the sofa, legs in the air snoring all day in between playing with his numerous toys after his morning walk and ready for his long evening walk. If he could speak I'm sure he'd say he'd rather be here than in kennels.

My dog is 11, We've both worked full time since we had him at eight weeks.

Don't believe the hype. Dogs are a product of their environment and routine.

Good, Im pleased for you, but leaving a dog for longer than 4 hours is a no no from me.

Depends entirely on the dog and your personal circumstances. No point judging others on what they do without knowing either.

Routine routine routine!

Our lab can be at home for up to 8 hours but she's always walked twice a day, has her food at the same times and is given plenty of attention. She's been brilliant to be fair

Exactly. Putting an arbitrary limit on how long a dog can be left for is fairly brainless.

That`s not a dog, It just about passes for a rat.To call it a dog is an insult to actual dogs.Did you buy a carry bag so you can pop the rat in there and parade it around town ?
