Or anyone who can answer question below ....

Off to Vegas Saturday.

Any bars close to Excalibur which sell cheap booze and likely to be showing the Welsh game Sunday lunch time ?

Thanks in advance

I don't know about the cheap part, but literally every sports book will have booze and all the games on.

Good luck! Not a fan of Excalibur, but it doesn't really matter where you stay in Vegas, as long as it's on the Strip.

FYI though, if you choose to seek out a sports bar, the game will be on FS2 (Fox Sports 2). Most cable systems carry that, but you might want to call ahead and make sure they can show it.

Thanks both

Me neither I stayed in the Bellagio last time (admitldly I was on my honeymoon) 12 years ago. There is a group of us going this time, friends are getting married by Elvis whilst we are out there.

Any recommendations for a decent bar close to the strip not mega expensive ?

Check out Twin Peaks - a popular chain "breastaurant" (like Hooters). It's right on the Strip - I think in the Planet Hollywood casino.

That sounds classy. Even by Vegas standards.

I'm sure the women in the wedding party will love that.

Vegas?!

Why do British people flock to Vegas and Florida like lemmings?

Fuggin' 'ell, there's a squillion other places in the states worth visiting.

Maybe try Oregon or Idaho next time, or the Maine coast, Charleston in South Carolina, the Rockies, or Montana, or try driving east to west across Kansas to see how long it takes - don't try this in Texas, though, because, as Tummer will tell you, you'll be dead of old age or boredom before you make it!

One day, when I pass my driving test, I'll do all these things

But jeez, spare me from Vegas and Orlando.

It's like Americans who come over here and "do" London, Oxford & Edinburgh and think they then know the UK. They'd be better off visiting, I dunno, random places like Stroud, Derby, Stoke and, of course, Swansea.

If you were visiting the U.K. on a once in a lifetime sort of visit, I quite genuinely hope people visit London, Oxford and Edinburgh rather than Stroud, Derby and Stoke.

I'd ditch Edinburgh for Swansea mind. Full of shops selling tartan tat. At least the shops in Swansea sell non tartan tat :-)

Which makes me wonder. Haven't been to Swansea for a while, but there used to be a sort of "Welsh" tartan bridal wear shop on Belle Vue. Hopefully it's still going.

We steal quite a bit off the Scots - Welsh whiskey, and all.

Thanks for the advise

I have visited several US cities but as the group I am travelling with fancied a blast in Vegas (& a wedding) thought I'd go along.

When you've passed your driving test let us know how it went 👍

I'd add the Lake District of places in the U.K.to visit.

The helicopter rides to the Grand Canyon are nice if you have time.

Sorry Penc, wasn't having a go at you personally.

Was thinking more about a bloke I work with in his 40s who goes with his wife (no kids) to Disneyland Florida every year. Whatever makes them happy, I suppose.

Agree about the Lake District - except when it's raining!

No problem no offence taken

I know exactly what you mean about people who go to the same place year in year out, but each to their own. I am lucky I travel a lot with work visiting different countries experiencing different cultures .... it really gives you a different outlook on the world.

I probably wouldn't have gone back to Vegas but the group of friends we are going with have never been & as I said 1 couple are getting married.

Anyway looking forward to a blow out and some sun

I hope you sampled the fare from the in house micro brewery. Only $2.50 a glass (large glass).

Glad you had a great time! Wales conceding late to Serbia was a little disappointing, but still was nice to get a point with Bale out.
