Have you ever seen one in person? On a whim I recently again watched High Noon, and could not help but be impressed by the youthful beauty of Grace Kelly. It brought to mind the fact that she is the only screen siren from that time, or indeed any era, that I've seen at a football match on British shores. She was only about 20 yards from where I sat albeit in a glass viewing area. David Niven was also present that day. Can anybody guess what match that was?

Has to be as they were both residents there.

The two Swans vs Monaco games H and A were in 1991. Sadly Grace died after a car accident in 1982. Clue: My game was in GB.

I remember seeing one, who was my screen goddess at the time, because he was always on the Saturday morning Sky Soccer am show, showing his showboating skills while playing in a match 😎

1966 World Cup Final??

No - they may have been there but I wasn't. I will give the answer soon to avoid getting too boring. Hint 2: Score was the same as in the Swans vs Monaco 1991 home leg.

Ah well, screen goddess sightings are few and far between - as I expected.

I saw Princess Grace at Tannadice Park at a UEFA Cup game in September 1981 in which Dundee United lost 1-2 to AS Monaco. It seems that she attended a lot of AS Monaco games along with her husband.

The Arab fans left the ground a tad disappointed with the performance that night, but happy that United went through, having won 5-2 in Monaco earlier in the month.

I'd left Swansea the previous year to stay in work, at a time when a lot of Welsh jobs were going. But that season Scottish football was of much less interest to me than what Tosh and the boys were doing in League 1, and I had managed to get down for the Leeds game. Admittedly it didn't take long for me to warm to United, as Jim McLean wrote a fairy tale of his own, and that made up a bit for the Swans' downward slide over the next few seasons. As it turned out, the early 1980s was a high point for both clubs, which preceded decline. The Swans did rise again for a time, while the Arabs have had to make do with thin gruel for some years now.

So far it looks as though we are comparing premier league with championship. Grace was right at the top as far as superstars go, and seems to have been actually liked football. She even designed a club shirt.

He was a guest of Trade Centre Wales owner I believe. He’s now living in Monaco I’ve been told and big friends with Albert.

I've heard that she's said that she used to go to the Vetch.

Michael Douglas said on the Jonathan Ross show that he's a Swans fan, although I don't think he's been.
