Why is the BBC news so much better than ITN in terms of ease of viewing?

Absolutely, no ads. Plus they walk a very narrow tightrope of neutrality. 90% of the printed and online press hate them for their tax based revenue, and the other 10% hate them for their institutional very British approach whereby you leave stones unturned or raise them with your toecap rather than kicking them upsidedown as any good Corbyn would.

I feel very sorry for the BBC, it survives aggressively between a rock and a hard place, possibly the only medium pumping out news as close to impartial as you will find, worldwide. If you worry about ITN or Sky then travel the world and watch local US Fox or Aussie TV. It will make your eyes bleed with the crass presentation and incessant ad breaks and fundamentally NO NEWS.

The news on American tv is just a nuisance, inconvenience in between the ad breaks...they are relentless.

Another factor Jackfath is that you possess a more inquisitive, educated and open mind than a Penclawdd cockle, an organism displaying more intelligence than what we see in parts of the US, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Russia.

Thank you.

Some on here will disagree with you though. Cue the down arrows and obsessive posts.

But sky news trumps them both. Paper reviews in the morning and none of this false camaraderie on a sofa that the BBC breakfast have.
BBC Wales today is a superb regional production, compared to other regions in britain, we have diamonds in Jamie Owen, Brockway and nick servini and cornock. The young pollock woman is superb.

I don't think it's that. I've always found it difficult to watch - ITV in general really. Compared to BBC or some other news it's like tabloid vis broadsheet.

I spent my formative years in Carmarthen. If there's nobody to talk to or with, you talk at someone. If there's nobody else, you talk to yourself. Carmarthen is seriously one of the strongholds of conversation and you have to keep up. Top tip, King Street is quieter than Guildhall Square and Lammas Street is the most vibrant.
