This is exactly the same mistake that the Welsh rugby regions & the league they play in has made. The games are irregular played at silly times for tv rarely on Saturday & never at 3pm. The league programme is spread over the whole weekend. We have all seen what that has done to crowds watching rugby these days, nobody bothers & interest is at an all time low. Risky strategy for what reward ?

Thanks to Keith & those that run the site and all the posters who get involved. It is and has been the first place I visit for my daily dose of the Swans for a few years now. Keep up the great work

Swansea City : The confusing decision making for a whole season
at 13:55 5 May 2024

“…had the Swans been relegated some real in your face action was planned.” …. this needs some more context and detail, got me hooked.

Based on our financial situation, LW is gonna have to get the youngsters integrated into the first team squad & on the field rapidly as I can’t see many incoming without shedding a lot of the out of contract bunch first, even then we will struggle to attract quality in the numbers required on our budget.

As for yesterday’s selection, just baffling … unless there was some kind of message or point being made. Even then sacrificing your chances of winning to make a point is a pretty extreme way to make a point even if was last game of a dreadful season

Man City VAR Penalty

The original decision was a shocker, VAR failure to overturn even worse. Had he not given it, no way would have VAR overturned it.

Swans supporters consult Kieran Maguire and when did Andy start as Chairman ?
at 13:45 2 May 2024

There may be an infinite number of ways to look in to the numbers produced in this article, a couple stand out for me.

Matchday income is way lower now than in 2010. About 30% lower. So much for the business acumen since change of ownership or just the difference in supporters following a team on the up v a team on the slide ?

Since 2016 player sales profits are around £160,000,000 a staggering amount of money to take in for a club making a loss most years.

There is good commentary then there is SwansTV
at 17:30 22 Apr 2024

Best away day coverage that I’ve seen this season was Ipswich away. They had 2 ex players, Matt Holland & someone else - fair discussion of both teams in the commentary, tactical review at half time, goals replayed at half time etc. Very professional & fair

Leighton James : His own football revolution

If you are referring to a free kick that he scored in a night match against Liverpool at the Vetch, I too have been unable to find it. It was a direct free kick at the Double Decker end about 25-30 yards out. Leighton started his run up on the half way line - what a strike that was - think we won that one 2-0

🔴 Should Williams play the academy players ?
at 15:30 11 Apr 2024

Ashby was given chances and to be frank we have better players than him in the squad. I don’t think Duff’s set up really helped but he is not EPL standard. As for the Arsenal player, who knows … how many season tickets will the club need to sell to fund his wages ? …. what an absolute waste

Anger is an energy : Grimes inspirational in tense win v Stoke

I think this bunch lacks quality to coast through games to win by skill alone. They need to be fired up and angry & that desire starts with the individual & the coach needs to set the scene & stir the desire. Agree with your comment

🔴 Should Williams play the academy players ?
at 13:41 11 Apr 2024

If academy players are good enough they should be in the matchday squads & go from there. Put 1 or 2 on the field if we are in the position to do so.

Historically the club has never really been that good at blooding academy players at the end of the season. I can’t see the coach risking it until we are mathematically safe. Even then he will be under pressure to finish as high up the league as possible for financial rewards. That’s just the way it works

Yap Yap here’s another Swansea City excuse !
at 13:49 8 Apr 2024

I can echo the thoughts of the poster that this article refers to. We all have different thresholds with regard to boredom. I got to that place when Russell Martin was still in post. Things have gone from bad to worse since then & many are getting the same sense of ‘boredom’ now. It’s not clear to me why this board has so quickly gone from being a supporter of the regime to constantly calling out the leadership when in reality it has been on a decline year on year for so long … what’s changed ?

Swansea City v QPR : Match day thread **Game Day !
at 20:04 1 Apr 2024

The problem with data is that it doesn’t have eyes. Was Yates really that good last season ? It has been mentioned before that he got most of his goals (including penalties) in a couple of ‘hot’ spells. He had long fruitless spells last season too. Our ‘hot’ spells this season have come mostly when Yates has been off the pitch.

Any club with a fulcrum of Grimes & Fulton & the injury prone duo of Allen & Walsh is doomed to failure. Add a bunch of centre backs (any combination) that can’t defend & you have to wonder why we aren’t even further down the league. We haven’t even seen how crap the Ukraine lad is yet as none of the coaches have fancied him.

We need a massive clear out in the close season but the financial crisis that the club finds itself in indicates that things will likely get even tougher next season

How on earth was that a penalty ?
at 07:57 1 Apr 2024

Shocker for me too - at no stage did Gordon win or try to play the ball. If anything it should be a foul on Phillips. Hardly got a mention on my stream - Michael Bridges was the co-commentator. I feel Moyes could have made a bigger deal of this , Shearer (no surprise) thought it was a clear pen. Just bizarre that VAR with all the replays & action replays gave it by overturning the original decision. If it had been 2-3 at the time instead of 1-3, it wouldn’t have been given

Defo the weakest link, then you add in the Lewandioski factor it’ll be tough to keep him quiet. That’s why I think we should go for it like the Finland match

Leicester Guilty of Financial Rule Breaking
at 14:23 22 Mar 2024

You could be right, the article states that the EFL is investigating. It also states that they paid a fine for cheating their way out of the Championship back in 2013-14.

Leicester Guilty of Financial Rule Breaking
at 06:40 22 Mar 2024

If they get docked the points this season then they would have to go through the play offs … looking at the teams in there at the moment there would be some tough opponents but I would expect Leicester to get through.

Dock the points next season & there is a good chance that they will be in the relegation mix & the cycle starts all over again.

Conundrum for someone … what I would really like to see the EPL do is send the guilty parties to the bottom of the pyramid just like Rangers had to endure in Scotland. It may be the only way to get some resolution to the endless cheating, investigations & legal cycles that we are seeing
