Points from winning & losing positions
at 14:15 15 Jan 2024

After reading that we have dropped 23 pts from winning positions, I have done a little research to follow this up. From our 27 league games we been in front in 17 of those games only managing to hold on for a win in 8 games. Transfermarkt showing that only Rotherham are worse than us on a points per game basis for holding on to a lead. There are multiple ways to read in to our record so make of it what you will.

Winning games from losing positions does not read great either, according to Transfermarkt we have only won 1 game from a losing position, recovering to draw 5 games but ultimately losing 10 games when we go behind. Amazingly we are nowhere near the worse for winning points from losing positions, Leeds & Ipswich leading the way for recovering points. Surprisingly Southampton & West Brom amongst the worse for winning points after going behind. Again make your own conclusions

Away support for Swans dwindling ?
at 12:26 3 Jan 2024

This makes pretty poor reading for the much travelled Swans away support. We have the greatest distances to travel & historically we have always had decent away support. My thoughts have always been that we usually take away far more supporters than we get visiting us so this really is a surprise …

3-2 & 2-3 such a beautiful scoreline
at 19:15 1 Apr 2023

When I think back to some of the most exciting Swans games that I have been present for the 3-2, 2-3 scorelines figure prominently:

Ipswich 2 v 3 Swans - Curtis winner, Toshack v Bobby Robson
Swans 3 v 2 Leeds - 10 man Swans on the March to League 1 winners
Swans 3 v 2 Cardiff - double from Pratley
Swans 3 v 2 Arsenal Danny Graham winner against Wengers Arsenal
Liverpool 2 v 3 Swans - Llorente & Sigurdsson sealing Paul Clement’s first win
Cardiff 2 v 3 Swans - Joe Cabango !!

Beautiful scoreline, beautiful day

Eintracht Frankfurt fans in Napoli
at 12:47 16 Mar 2023

Hundreds of Eintracht Frankfurt fans turned up in Napoli last night despite being barred from buying tickets. Rangers & West Ham fans have recently experienced this lot abroad.

Karma for the Naples police ?

Probably been done before, does anyone know how this AC/DC track has become the walk on anthem for the team ?

I could think of worse music but prefer White Riot (The Clash) & Ride a White Swan ( T Rex) both have been played regularly over the years.

Alejandro Pozuelo former Swan playing in the MLS for Phil Neville at Inter Miami. A skilful player who never quite made it for us but is now one of the highest paid players in the MLS earning more than Bale & Benteke

Two transfer windows for Martin ?
at 14:06 14 Dec 2021

There seems to be a large number of Martin supporters advocating or suggesting that Martin should be judged after two transfer windows. So, just who is buying in to this ?

There is not a manager in the league who wouldn’t be unhappy with such generosity from its supporters. Meanwhile in the real world most managers have to make do with the resources available. Managers need to earn the right for investment into projects by providing a measure of return on investment. In other words how much do the owners trust the Manager to provide funds balanced against risk. Transfer windows can be a death knell for some managers (Lampard), just occasionally a saving grace

At present Martin is rapidly regressing. After such promise & what appeared to be great progress (WBA, Coventry) the constant chopping & changing (not all of it enforced by illness/injury) is taking us backwards at a rate of knots. Where has Bidwell gone ? Smith,Grimes, Downes in the same midfield ? Manning in front of Bidwell ? Changing winning combinations to play Williams ? Not even a few minutes when beaten for Liam Walsh ? Fulton not even in the match day squads ? Laird looking tired but still being played ? Some of these calls seem totally bizarre to me.

The manager needs to show that he can provide some consistency with his current resources before being backed for even the next transfer window, let alone two imo

Still the best in Wales
at 08:47 9 Dec 2021

Swans named most popular in Wales

Swansea are the most popular football club in Wales, according to a new survey examining social media followings.

Sportswear providers Decathlon have gathered data on the number of followers of each team across platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok and YouTube.

It found that the Swans were Welsh football's most popular club, boasting 2.8 million followers.

Cardiff were second with 1.1 million, while Newport County had 197,000 followers.

Will Taylor, UK Football Leader from Decathlon, said: "Many football fans get extremely excited and passionate when it comes to local derbies! It’s interesting to see the regional clubs popularity on social media and how this might tie to the clubs successes."
