How different would our situation actually be though?

I'm assuming he would have had very little say in our transfer dealings

I'm sure I read that Connor Roberts was impressive when he was given a chance but the Rovers manager had his favourites and stuck to them

To be fair to him, he has always played well when given a chance in the first team

If we had an in form Siggy behind Borja instead of Cork, we could be ahead.

(Not a criticism of Cork's play tonight, just if we had someone who could supply a better final ball)

I'd take Laudrup on as a scout or some form of consultancy role in recruitment.

Depends on your expectations.
I'd wait for a price drop. Seems the perfect game to zone out to

Didn't Roberts mostly play at left back during the tour? Bit of a shame that he wasn't able to play and try to impress Guidolin in his favoured position

Swansea City join race to sign Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew
at 09:44 10 Aug 2016

Coming round to the idea of signing a third striker/ forward. Hopefully that would mean we can send McBurnie out on loan to get some first team football. Pre season has shown that he has some talent and he got into some good positions. Now he needs to push on this season

Amat certainly didn't lack physicality and aggression when he won the ball back to set up the equaliser at the Emirates.

But I am wondering who will step up and grow into the captaincy role

I'm not sure I trust the board to set an appropriate fee if he were to leave

Might explain why we were looking at that 'keeper as Nordfeldt would be off.

Though surely we would try to poach someone from a higher level?

Perhaps they're hoping Connor Roberts would be the long term solution.

Another season long loan, maybe at Championship level, then bring him into the first team squad.

How much?
at 14:48 12 Apr 2016

Wouldn't they need more than £4m?

If the buyers are offering £100m for roughly 72% of the shares (and since the other share holders are relinquishing their voting rights to the new owners to take them to 75.1%)

Then that means a single percentage point of shares are worth ~£1.3-£1.4m

So the trust would need ~£5.5m

...

Better set up that Kickstarter page

I expect the new owners will also be taking dividends and god knows how much they will pay themselves on top of that too.

If the trust somehow managed to raise the funds to buy those shares, then I have a feeling these "investors" would pull out of the deal.

Also, how does having 25% of the shares protect the trust from having their holding diluted if new shares were issued?

Or does the 25% mean they can block future share issues and therefore not have to worry about that?

-edit just noticed the reply above answers my question

Part of me would like to think that those shares that aren't included as part of the sale would then be handed over to the trust, once the the sale is complete. (Obviously the Americans would need to have no knowledge of this before hand otherwise I could see them pulling the plug on the deal)

Does anybody have Cathy's number? Ask if old Mike and her are willing to make a very charitable donation to the trust
