Curt
at 11:13 5 Jan 2017

If he wants to retire, then it`s his choice and that`s fine. But if Clements doesn`t want him on the coaching staff then there is no way that Curt will be fired from the club. The man is a total legend. There will be a job found for him. There just has to be.

Fabs was excellent yesterday, possibly his most commanding game of the season. Apart from one less than brilliant goal kick, his distribution (which I think is his Achille`s heel) was much, much better. Brendan Rogers used to say that a good keeper would earn you 12 points a season. Whatever else is happening on the pitch, thankfully we have Fabs.

To all our new American fans
at 13:50 4 Oct 2016

This sort of anti-American feeling is just plain barmy. Look, whatever the reason, whatever the politics, whatever the lack of respect for Guidolin, we have now got Bob Bradley as our manager. If you are a true Swansea fan, you have to get behind him as we have to get behind our team. That`s the role of any true fan.

Francesco Guidolin: Swansea City to appoint new head coach
at 08:57 18 Jan 2016

If this appointment had been made as soon as Garry Monk left, we would be purring. Guidolin`s pedigree is outstanding not only in his management successes at small unfashionable clubs with small budgets, but in his development of players, too.

So let`s forget the feeling that this is an uncharacteristic panic move from the Board (even if it is), and celebrate the appointment of a top class coach/manager to the club.

I know Curt well, and he will undoubtedly welcome this appointment rather than see it as a sign of failure. He is, after all, STID, as we all should be.

Season Ticket Renewals 2016/17
at 10:20 8 Jan 2016

I never renew my season tickets until March because, being self-employed, there is too much other expenditure to worry about at this time of year. But renew I most certainly will, whatever division we are in next season. STID, after all!

Dorus De Vries lol

We should all be happy that he went. I never rated him highly, and there is no doubt that Vorm was a great keeper for us in our first Premier League season. I have a strong feeling that De Vries could even have taken us down - or at least been replaced in the January window.

Jeremy Corbyn
at 10:40 28 Jul 2015

As a good old fashioned socialist I have been totally disenfranchised since Blair became leader of the Labour Party and turned it into Conservative Lite.

I feel that I would rather side with Corbyn and risk the political wildernesss than have a real stab at power with Burnham, Cooper and Kendall, because with any of those candidates, should Labour achieve power, it will be just more of the same.

The argument should not be "power at all costs" for the Labour Party, because any principled party has a set of standards and ethics which shouldn`t be for sale. It is up to any political party, surely, to try to convince the electorate to their cause, rather than a "what do you want? We`ll give it to you" policy.

I firmly believe that Corbyn is the best bet for Labour in the long term. I doubt whether the party will be elected in the next election, but if Corbyn can sell the country his principled views, then who knows.

I was around in the early eighties, when the Labour Party under Michael Foot last went to the left. That was a disaster, no doubt. But I think it`s different now. I believe that there is a genuine feeling in the country against power-hungry career politicians (why else would Nigel Farage have seemed so attractive to so many?).

Corbyn is clearly a person of principle, and there`s not many politicians that you can say that about.

Andy Carroll.
at 11:02 11 Jan 2015

I dislike Andy Carrol intensely. His constant niggling at the ref, his constant mouthing to the opposition, his constant fouling off the ball. I don`t even think he is a particularly good footballer. That said it hurts me to admit that his goal against us was as good if not better than anything scored at the Liberty this season. Yes, he should have been closed down earlier, but that finish was superb.

The goal celebration was odious, however. No matter how much you are being goaded by the crowd, you are a highly paid professional. Get on with it.

What a difference to Gomis`s goal celebration and the waving of the French tricolor. That was class. Something that Andy Carroll is conspicuously short of.

Is Niall Quinn a minge?
at 13:45 8 Dec 2014

I rarely watch Sky, believe it or not. But I did watch their coverage for the West Ham game, and was astonished by the bias. If I had been watching Hammers TV it would have been expected and acceptable, but from a supposedly unbiased international broadcaster it was nothing short of unbelievable. According to Quinn, Andy Carroll is the greatest striker in the world! I don`t buy it myself. AC is tall, strong, puts himself around a bit and is good with his head. But that`s it. Ronaldo he ain`t !

it baffles me how any true fan can support a second league team. if you are a Swans fan through and through, then there is only one team to support in the Premier League - and that is the Swans. Anything else and you cannot call yourself a true Jack.

Monk - Ki will get a new contract
at 19:42 30 Jul 2014

I don`t know why we loaned him out in the first place. But then ML made some odd decisions in his second season, didn`t he? I was always very impressed with his performances, particularly his skillful and accurate passing. Right position I would have thought would be in a more attacking midfielder role than he played under ML where he tended to play too deep. I noticed he played a far more forward role in Brazil where he was head and shoulders the best South Korean player. World Class? Not far off.
