There was New Year’s game in the late 80s against a niggly, playacting Norwich team who’d fluked a goal and clung onto it into injury time. Mark Falco forced it over the line in an ugly melee, sending a cold, wet, pissed-off and not particularly big crowd completely crackers. Best meaningless point ever.

I was going to mention exactly that game. They cheated and time wasted the whole game. Got exactly what they deserved. I think it was some converted centre half playing up front for them, Rob Newman? who scored As you say, completely meaningless in the scheme of things

I mentioned that game a few months ago on here. They were top of the league with not very many games left and once they went one up, really took the p… with their time-wasting - I can still see Bowen pretending to not know where to take a throw from even now- and we were going absolutely mental. Falco’s equaliser was from a Paul Parker cross (I said it was Bard in my previous recollection but I’ve seen it since) and whilst it wasn’t a scramble as mentioned above, it was a bloody good header, but he was climbing all over their defender but there would have been a riot if it has been disallowed. Not quite revenge for 76 as they fell away quite badly in the end, but it felt like it at the time.
I need a SAGA. What’s the SAGA? It’s ….. Queen’s Park Rangers.

No, you’re right. I remembered the deliciously evil method, but the force of the header added to the eruption.
Falco was fantastic. One of those players who arrived unexpectedly and left just as abruptly, without us having a chance to properly appreciate what we were losing.

Had read Falco not been too well recently. Hope he keeps well.
Wasn't the last minute in either but he scored an overhead volley to put us 4- 2 up against Chelsea and hit a fantastic run and shot from outside the area to put us 3 - 1 up against Liverpool. On both occasions, the other side of London was shaken, given the explosion of noise within the ground....

Yes I remember this and the Loft remembered amid the celebrations to sing a very loud chorus of "boring, boring Norwich" as they left the field at the end. One of the most frustrating games I ever attended.
