I know we are (in our opinion anyway) the most frustrating team in the entire league. Beat Coventry, lose to Blackburn blah, blah, blah. (For me the most frustrating game of the entire season was Portsmouth away and we didn’t even lose! Because I stupidly thought beating Leicester was a ‘watershed’ moment in our season , instead of a ‘tear in the fabric of reality’ moment) But despite all the misgivings, the heartaches, the ball-aches , the downright boredom in supporting this team, this club, we are all ultimately singing off the same hymn sheet are we not? We all want this team to succeed, do we not? Success can mean different things to different fans (4th round of the FA Cup would be nice for example), play-offs anyone? But ultimately we all want to win more games than we lose and we want to be entertained while winning these games. So, with this in mind and bearing in mind our universal admiration for Clive and the effort he puts in here, and the cognisance of the shit he takes on line, just by keeping this site afloat and daring to be honest and truthful .Can we not try - if not to all get along - to at least moderate our differences and show common support for the club we love, while perhaps making Clive’s job a touch easier?

I got called out for winging and to get behind the team before the Blackburn game for saying what I saw in JS approach to games. After Blackburn it was winge central on here. It hurt my feelings and wasn’t necessary. :)
So whole heartedly agree with Myke. Let’s agree to disagree sometimes.

We don't all want and/or value the same things, rather obviously! The trouble (and joy) is we see the world differently, and so 'honesty' and 'authenticity' mean different (and sometimes conflicting) things to, and have different effects on, different people. I'm in conflict with myself, let alone others, on a daily basis. That's what QPR and the world - both inner and outer - does to anyone of any complexity, right? Some people would rather be sheep than individuals, however - twas ever thus!
People who are connected to power structures of whatever kind also tend to be somewhat compromised and/or agenda-driven. As Roland Barthes put it, 'the one who is pure of power is insane'. Certainly, the most vulnerable, sensitive, and thin-skinned suffer most, and more people than one would like to admit love (to hate) a scapegoat.
We dream the same dream. We want the same thing and all that we need is to see it together. We dream the same dream. We want the same thing for now, for love, forever, amen.

As the old saying goes, “ it'd be a funny old world if we were all the same”
But we are all the same in a QPR context that's my initial point. We are all QPR fans, who want them to do well. That's the common denominator that should be the base starting point for all discussion I would have thought.

I'm sure we all want the same thing for QPR but how we get there is extremely varied (choice of coach, starting XI, subs, tactics etc.) hence the discussions before, during and after each game and people (and I'm meaning everyone), understandably, can be very firm in their views hence differences of opinions.
Thing is, none of us have any control over any of it so sometimes it goes a bit OTT IMO. It all becomes about ones opinion being right (and again, I'm talking about everyone) and we just have a magic roundabout going around and around and around.....

Great post Myke, although others have tried and failed where you are treading
Sadly this thread will no doubt be hijacked by the usual suspects telling everyone how they are victimised etc etc - But bravo for taking the route - I agree that we all do want the same thing, the best for QPR we just all have a 'unique' way of getting it across

Which is to say, I think, that, for some, some people are always deemed to be more equal (or more acceptably 'unique') than others.

As the old saying goes, “ it'd be a funny old world if we were all the same”
My old Nan, long since gone Colin, used to say ;
"There is nothing as queer as folk."
The definition of the critical word then meant strange and not the connotations it has today. Basically just saying everyone of us is strange and none of us are the same. Nan used to say thank God, everyone is different, ie it would be an incredibly tedious world if everyone was the same. Crikey if everyone was the same as me, I think I would quickly head for the emergency exits as dull is not a world I want to frequent for too long.
Yes Myke, it would be great, if some would not resort to name calling when people just disagree with their opinion. Words can damage sometimes, as being an online forum, where most dont know many on here personally, we dont know always the circumstances that people maybe currently facing and some unexpected abuse on here, can have more of an impact than the perpetrator may realise.
I agree with you, but I doubt it will change. But it should do really.
Disagreement is natural, often helpful, and opens us up to new ways of looking at stuff.
However, personal insults, belittling, and dismissing other perspectives is completely unnecessary. I like this forum and my preference is that it evolved into a place for healthy discussion on a consistent basis.
Just needs each individual to 'own' their own behaviour. We are all grown ups (I assume), so it's not that hard, with our love for the Rs at the heart of things.

People tell me they want to collaborate; collaboration is everything; collaboration breeds success. That makes a fatal assumption – we all want the same thing and an agreed way to get there. There are a million opinions about the what to achieve, let alone the how.
Cooperation is more realistic. We all want something slightly different from QPR - we call it success - and that's fine. The hymn sheet analogy only works if we're all singing the same song. We're not. Some want the play-offs, some want decent football, and some just want to stop losing to Blackburn.

Made the mistake of getting a Twitter account around 2009 as I was told the QPR chat was much better than Facebook. Expected it to be one big happy ‘we are all in it together’ family . How naive and stupid I was . Couldn’t believe the vitriol to one another . Some really strange characters (Scott Jones for example) . Took a long time to realise we all get different things from supporting this football club and we all see things differently . Catch myself at times arguing the toss on here over insignificant nonsense that really doesn’t matter and is just opinion after all . Sharing views and opinions is a great thing though and that’s what I love about this site. Some really intelligent and insightful posters and conversations.
A lot of the worries and concerns raised really are mostly fans damaged by previous owners, chairman etc and see the warning signs and genuinely don’t want similar mistakes made . Dont really accept the rhetoric that some are only happy when we do badly . I just don’t think people would be that passionate and emotional about it . You’d just do something else .

same at my work.
"collaboration" and "meeting expectations" are used so often it's losing any meaning and just becomes pandering vomit inducing.
translations;
- "collaboration" = "do what we tell you"
- "meeting expectations" = do whatever it is they want regardless of how late, disorganised, incompetent etc they are. It's your fault if they make a mistake.

The fake 'managerspeak' to which you allude makes me think of the brilliantly observant Simon Pegg haranguing Manny in Black Books.
