Mutual termination.

Filed that one under : meh

Clearly a League One standard player much like Connor Washington and that Wheeler chap. One of these days we'll get one right but begs the question when QPR are scouting from the division below, what are they looking at in a striker, is it all done on statistics thesedays instead of someone's keen eye for what's required?

So what were they supposed to do? Cave into his last minute demands and demonstrate they are a soft touch, whilst simultaneously not being able to sign anyone as the money available had been reduced, it was probably too late and the targeted signing had modified his views on coming as well. So we would have been a forward light.

That would have been stupid on all counts.

It's very poor management to be relying on the whim of a Jaffa Cake addict for your playing strategy for the season though. We need to be getting to the play-offs and trying to get out of this league; if we'd had another striker we could have another 10 points. To spend half the season with only Dykes and a raw rookie up front is a failure by the club.

Well he was decent in pre season and he who shouldn't be mentioned used him off the bench three times in the first four games.

Striker recruitment has been a huge failure.

Washington, Hemed, Sylla, Hugill, Bonne, Wells, Gray, Austin, Kelman, and Smith.

Not withstanding Eze, who is not and out and out striker and signed for the Academy, it could argued that the much maligned Dykes has been our only success in recent history.

Goals, Goals, goals!!!

We have always been a forward light this season because he wasn’t being selected. We paid his wages to sit out games, so I am not sure what point you are trying to make.

I seem to recall that it was QPR who pulled out of the deal to send Bonne out on loan in August because they couldn’t get another striker in.

Erm, I should imagine that when you are forking out over £21m a year - a year - to keep Rangers afloat, like our owners are, you are probably quite keen to get promoted!

You surely know how close we are to breaching the FFP rules again and that is something which makes signing a reliable, Championship standard striker extremely difficult. They cost the earth, every team in this division is after one, and we cannot allow ourselves to go over the FFP precipice again. As a repeat offender, we could get a truly colossal fine, maybe also a points deduction which would plunge us straight into the white heat of a relegation dogfight.

I'm very disappointed in how things worked out with Bonne but you make it sound way simpler than it actually is.

They are forking that money out due to their own incompetence running the club. Remember, we’d just been promoted to the PL when Fernandes and Co took over. It’s their ballsup they are paying out for….

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

Fair enough but implying that they are not trying to get us promoted is way off the mark!

They have made mistakes but it's the rules that stop the owners from just throwing money at the club and signing more expensive players

They were not the first nor last to make that mistake of over spending, we are one of the few clubs with owners who want to spend but are not allowed. The profit and sustainability rules were always turkeys voting for Christmas, they have completely fecked us

Didn't our old chairman vote for these rules?

On my first point if read the paragraph again instead of focusing on the last few words, te point I am making should be quite clear.

Bonne was going to be paid off, until his agent tried to up the payment at the last minute. It wasn't a loan arrangement!

Which is a good thing given how historically crap we've been at spunking money in pursuit of success.
