Does anyone know whether he'll be released for good behaviour in time for the Play Offs?

Seriously though, I take it this will be appealed.

I mean the club have released a statement saying this isn’t the end of the legal process so presumably he stays at liberty until any appeals are heard.

Sounds like he threw a stone at the victim, rather than the earlier reported smashed his skull with a rock.

Still a terrible thing to do by the then 22yr old Ilias. Talk about a sliding doors moment of stupidity.

Presumably this is why Marti presser hasnt released yet - normally comes out on a Thursday but nothing yesterday or today yet

Terrible news if true.

That said, if he did do something as stupid as hitting someone with a rock, that sentence sounds lenient.

All so unnecessary and yet again, the club faces serious problems.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Ted, are you insinuating that we should start a thread on convicted players?

Super vague statement here...

The Sun's website is; https://www.thesun.co.uk/

the link above is; www.the-sun.com

However, using thesun.co.uk and putting 'ilias chair' in the search box gives this;

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/26135319/qpr-ilias-chair-jailed-truck-driver/

looks to be true.

This could account for his demeanour after the Bristol game. Knew he was going away for a while

For Christ sake just give him one of Amits or Mittals lawyers!

One of the shortest, vaguest statements possible. Not sure how the legal proceedings haven’t reached a conclusion when the press are saying he’s been convicted. Yes, you can technically appeal, but he’d be in prison whilst you do so, surely?

Typical QPR.David gets mentioned in the bible for downing a giant with a stone and Ilias gets a 2 year stretch.
I hope the victim is recovering ok though.

Again, none of us were there, none of us know the context. It's possible it was self defence, or he was worried for the safety of someone else. Not excusing him, but none of us know what happened there, but clearly it was some horrific violence perpetrated by someone who has always come across as one of the good guys.

Bare bones.

Surely, if he was imprisoned the club would say that.....suggest to me that he is still out of jail.

As they couldn’t get us 10 points deducted I heavily suspect Millwall are behind this.

Club seem to be on a 'tell people as little as possible about everything' mission atm so who knows. That statement would seem to imply it's ongoing etc, but all the press reports say go to jail do not pass go.

I think he's got more tomorrow about being a target inside...and that's before we factor in Big Alphonse on E-wing.

That 1 year sentence could be longer too by the time he gets to his cell keep cutting back on his right foot

If he actually is going to jail, I assume we'd be able to get out of paying his wages? Would we then be able to grab a free agent from somewhere? No idea who's actually available mind you.

In hindsight, rejecting that offer from Turkey may not have been the best decision.

i doubt once they started looking into it it would have gone through tbf.

Bare bones.
