SAGE meeting notes since January.

Redactions

Redactions will be limited and will be applied to protect the personal data of individuals, in particular junior officials and those participants in scientific advisory groups who have asked not to be named, or to protect the national security. A very small number of papers have been prepared for use in Cabinet Meetings and will not form part of this publication scheme, and in line with wider practice

I'm already quite far down this particular rabbit hole but haven't read these yet. Cheers Red. Some of the excerpts I have seen fill me with dread.

Once got told, "if you want to hide embarrassing news, drop it on a Friday night after 8pm"

1) Everyone's down the pub, no one watches the News on TV and it's too late for newspapers to change their story for the next day headlines. (Also Sunday papers will be finishing up whatever week long stories they've been working on)

2) Saturday - Sport day and everyone off out at night, no one watches the News on TV.

3) Sunday - Lie in, Family Day, prepare for work, no one watches the News on TV.

4) Monday - News cycle has moved on.....

Some fatal flaws in that theory nowadays......

Can the public as a whole be trusted to "do the right thing"?

Bedtime reading?

Learning to read clusters is not something your eyes do naturally. It takes constant practice.

SAGE come out of this quite well. They mention nosocomial transmission quite early and question deaths caused by "the social measures" quite early on. No 10 not being led by the science ....

Never believed that tag line Rotts.

You don't give a "blank cheque" to someone and say "we'll do whatever you say".

Really need to see the Cabinet notes, and the notes from this inner circle from No 10 that's been running the whole show, to see how the picture all joins up.

Will only get to see that if there's an inquiry, and they release them. Could end up in the Courts and take years, if past inquiries are a guide.

It begs the question, why haven't more of the scientists spoken up?

They are in a no win situation also.

We can all predict a winner when it has already passed the post.
