Ewan Bange converted from the spot to help the under-18s fight back for a point at Fleetwood Town.

The striker slotted home in the 61st minute after Cameron Antwi was brought down in the area to cancel out Carl Johnston's opener for the hosts.

The game got underway with Fleetwood starting the brighter of the two sides, and it didn’t take long for that first goal of the game to be scored. A Sam Kellett goal-kick was pounced upon by Johnston, who then rounded the 'keeper and slotted into the empty net.

Kellett then redeemed himself with a terrific point-blank save from Joe Collins’ header to prevent Fleetwood from going further ahead.

Just before the break, a well worked free-kick allowed Nana Adarkwa to drive into the area for Blackpool and pull a cross back towards Antwi, but he couldn’t quite get a good connection on the ball to turn it home.

The hosts started the second-half brightly. Barry Baggley found space on the edge of the area to get his shot away, but he saw his effort clip the post and go behind for a goal-kick.

Then came the Blackpool equaliser. Cameron Antwi got to the ball first ahead of his man and got brought down in the area, leaving the referee with no choice but to point to the spot. Ewan Bange stepped up on his return to the starting XI and fired the ball into the bottom corner.

With the game coming to a close, Blackpool finished the stronger of the two sides. Rob Apter whipped a teasing corner to the back post where Andy Kanga was waiting, but he couldn’t quite get on the end of the cross, leaving both teams to settle for a point.

Let's get our academy started as soon as possible.

I've already noted a couple of names.

Antwi and of course Bange.

We all want some through to the first team on merit.
