I find this a difficult one for ratings as we played 'ok' and this was a tricky tie with a confident championship team. I've seen us play much worse in similar games and win. So the issue is really that all our defensive players were fine and Victor MOTM for me again. Steve Davis really industrious and had a good game. EXCEPT we didn't score the 2nd goal and that is a failing in our attacking play. Usually Prem finishing beats Champ work-rate and that didn't happen. I love Stevo but he missed another one-on-one and Pelle can't score for toffee. Mind you I haven't watched the highlights yet and I'm expecting to see 2 cast-iron penalties that Shane should have had. What have refs got against the boy? He gets kicked all over the place and barely gets anything.

Check out Redknapp's interview on the BBC website, linked above.

He has the gall to say that QPR finished behind Burnley last season and they are behind them this season with basically the same group of players. How stupid does he think we are?

Harry, compared to Sandro, Mutch, Fer, Isla, Vargas, Ferdinand, Caulker, McCarthy and Zarate, who exactly have Burnley brought in this season?

Did I hear you say George Boyd?

Harry, you are not fit to lick Sean Dyche's boots.

Fellow fans, get used to the bottom three. We're here to stay.

For some reason there are no player rating options available - only the referee and match rating - can this be fixed please?

Tactical perfection from Koeman, holding the line in midfield for most of then game and then springing Tadic. Tactical silliness from MU, playing di Maria upfront and leaving Wanyama and Schneiderlin to run the midfield, which they did almost without breaking a sweat. The two subs, Gardos and Tadic, my MOMs. In a weekend when everyone is complaining about the standards of refereeing, this one was (and often is) especially poor. How did Rooney go unpunished when he cut down Davis from behind? And why wasn't Smalling caught for all that holding that he has to do to disguise the fact that he's just not very good? But ref aside, major and historic win for the Saints coming at the perfect time.

Superb display - all the papers banging on about how rubbish Utd were, but the truth is Saints were just better. The defence was as close as I've seen to a perfect performance in any match ever — one wayward kick from Forster following an unnecessary pass-back being the only error I can recall.

Brilliant performance and result , did think we played within ourselves a bit. There was more in the tank for sure.

What an arrogant ass LVG is. He was out classed/played by RK in both our matches. Said we were lucky, I didn't see any luck in our goal at all, it was well executed. Van Persie was the lucky one in our last game. LVG just hates Ronald outdoing him. We have certainly the team to keep us in the top four, barring major injuries or suspensions. Like to keep it going with a win at Newcastle, then it gets a little easier for a while. Still would like more firepower up front this window. Elia looks like he could be a handful. He looked confident and well suited to fit in. I loved the congrats he gave Tadic after the game, looked genuine.
Onwards and upwards!

Sniff dub agree entirely about the Davies challenge and Smalling's, bet we wouldn't have got the benefit of the situations had been reversed. Needless to say no comment on the media of those 'challenges' and MOTD didn't even shown the Rooney sycthe tackle. Just as well Davies not seriously injured.

wasn't pretty, but we got Palace at home next round, and that's what counts.

Not a great game but we were composed and controlled it from start to finish. Great reaction by Long for the goal. Wanyama injury another concern.
