Week 1 Results NORWICH 3 WEST BROM 4 West Brom get their first win of the season, as they edge this seven goal thriller. No chance of anybody getting this spot-on, but 14 did have the outcome. ROTHERHAM 1 IPSWICH 0 Rotherham get a 90th minute winner, as Ipswich boss Paul Hurst suffered defeat against his former club. That late winner was good news for the 6 who had this spot-on, and another 5 got the outcome. PLYMOUTH 1 SOUTHEND 1 Both teams get their first points of the season at rain-drenched Home Park. There were 3 who got this spot-on, and 4 more had the outcome. ROCHDALE 1 PETERBOROUGH 4 Peterborough came from behind to register a comfortable win, after ex-U's Henderson had given Rochdale the lead from the spot. Nobody had this spot-on, but 19 did get the outcome. CAMBRIDGE UNITED 3 NOTTS COUNTY 2 A 91st minute winner for Cambridge, as they came from behind to beat promotion favourites County, who are still looking for their first win. Again nobody got this spot-on, though 7 did have the outcome. COLCHESTER 2 PORT VALE 0 Colchester get their first win of the season thanks to two well taken first-half goals. A massive 10 had this spot-on, in what was the weeks most predicted result, with a further 17 getting the outcome. After a fantastic pre-season that has seen nine new members join, and the welcome return of Colukev, the 16th Happy League season finally started. The East Anglian themed fixtures produced a mixed set of results, with three games failing to produce a 3 pointer. It looked like the super U's were going to be the saviour of the week, until the Rotherham late winner gave us a final total of nineteen 3 pointers. With little form to go on that was overall a reasonable start to the season, with all members getting on the scoreboard. Top performer was without doubt the returning Colukev, who was the only one to get 3 points for all the games that produced a 3 pointer, and with one outcome, he is the weeks top scorer with a fantastic 10 points. By having the wins for Rotherham and Colchester spot-on, noah4x4 and ghughes11 got their seasons off to a flier with an excellent 8 points each. Two spot-ons also for RSCOSWORTH, the Plymouth draw and the Colchester win, to give him a very good 7 points. A special mention for unitedwhites, who came out best of those with one spot-on (the Rotherham 1-0), by also having four outcomes, to also give him a very good 7 points. In the Premier It is last seasons second and third noah4x4 and RSCOSWORTH who hit the ground running, and they occupy the top two spots. The late winner from Rotherham gets an early 3 pointer on the board for gsy163 and TheHappyGooner. While the Colchester win does likewise for sevebalo. A no show from Gate16. I hope it doesn't mean one of the Happy League's most consistent performers over the years is calling it a day. In Division One After his very unfortunate dismissal from the Premier last season Colukev comes back with a bang, and his top scoring effort obviously has him top. He has been such a consistent performer over the years at this level, that even at this early stage, I make him one of favorites for at least a play-off spot. No pressure then. Straight into the other automatic spot with his first ever predictions is ghughes11, and he is closely followed by another newbie unitedwhites. It has shown in the past that lack of Happy League experience is no barrier to success, so it will be not be a surprise to find any of the nine new members contesting the top six. THE TABLES (6 out of 280 played) (Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) Week 2 Fixtures EVERTON v SOUTHAMPTON LEICESTER CITY v WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS BRISTOL CITY v MIDDLESBROUGH MILLWALL v DERBY COUNTY ACCRINGTON STANLEY v CHARLTON ATHLETIC CREWE ALEXANDRA v MILTON KEYNES DONS Good luck everybody.
