Rovers Return Match Thread 16:07 - Jan 28 with 21782 viewsPinnerPaul

Don't think we have a definitive match thread, so here it is.

If we can get over the crushing disappoint of not having the opportunity to concede 8 goals to Man City reserves, think we might grind out a 1-1 draw tonight.

Wells won't score our goal btw!

He had to pick that side after his poor selection last Friday
3-2 QPR, with BOS x2 an Eze penalty 😜

0 - 3 to the Hoops. This is the side we should have played against Brentford and Wednesday

Strong and stable my arse.

Well, good to know we've got the Champ's third top scorer in our ranks, as Hugill usually can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo. Oh . . .

Failing that, I'm sure we had the foresight to draft in a credible replacement? Oh . . .

Or at least recall Oteh, Smyth? What's that, you say? Oh . . .

On the plus side, Lumley is missing, presumably with that troublesome ricked neck of his sustained a day after Kelly told us he was starting against Leeds.

All is well, though, as Lee Hoos assures us all we are working very hard behind the scenes to re-employ Mr Wells by waving a packet of pork scratchings at Sean Dyche, and a brown envelope of £23.47 in loose change.

If BOS, Cameron, Amos and co. aren't absolutely oozing freshness and force tonight, I, for one, will want to know the reason why, Mr Warburton.

4-2 Blackburn.

Do you mean Oteh who's scored 3 in 18 in league two and hasn't played in last three matches. Or Smyth who's got 1 in 12 in league 1?

Surely they're better off getting more matches there than sitting on our bench?

It's Hoos and Les who brought in Wells and Hughill. Sure they've made mistakes but overall I think they're moving us in the right direction.

I don't want them to bankrupt us for one player, especially as we're not making the playoffs this season, even with Wells.

It'll be tough tonight, as it usually is there, so probably 1-2 to Blackburn.

1-2 R's.

Travelling by train from Dublin to Cork tonight and they've restricted the wi-fi streaming, so will be relying on reading this thread for updates.

Pretty much a full strength side. Lots of options on the bench.

2-0 Blackburn

I am sure keyboard warriors will be already pounding out that it's disgraceful that we aren't playing Wells or Scowen tonight! Or Freeman. Or that Messi isn't in the midfield - or Ronaldo isn't up front.

We haven't won at Blackburn since dinosaurs walked the earth so not expecting anything but a defeat tonight. I reckon it may end 3-1 to them. Who knows.

If we lose heavily there will be more Warburton out, evil Les, sack the board bollox. Of that you can be sure.

Never knowingly right.

Woah, we’re going to Barbados.

Might ask the club to play that at future home games.

That sounds like the fking grimmest place on earth to be tonight ... Blackburn on a freezing Tuesday night in January!

Fair play to all who travelled but can’t see anything other than a limp wristed loss I’m afraid

I've never understood this weird footballing fatalism that thinks that the future must resemble the past, and the more there is of one kind of past, the more ineluctable what follows. In case you haven't noticed, the essence of life is its impermanence.

So, let me revise my earlier predictions, and go for an incongruous 1-4 to the Rangers, crowned by a headed fourth from a corner by Lumley (who isn't even playing, the gods be praised).

Is it only me or is anyone else TRYING to listen on the offy comms and only getting ambient background mic noise of the crowd and no actual commentary?
