Following promotion last season Guernsey have carried on where they left off.
They currently sit in 2nd place in the combined counties Premier division
although they have 24 points from 9 games. The leaders Egham town have 27 from 12 so Guernsey look well placed.
The break down so far is won 8 lost 1 with 38 goals scored and 8 conceded.
This year they entered the FA Vase and have just made it to the 2nd round proper but have been draw against unbeaten Erith Town from the Kent League and apparently one of the strongest teams in the competion.
Next year they enter the FA cup, lets hope they make it to the 1st round proper and draw the U's at home !!!!(a club from the C/C prem is one game from first round this year (playing Met Police in final qualifying round)

3-1 to Spennymoor in front of a record crowd of 4,290 at Footes Lane.
Remember it is over two legs, but Spennymoor must now be favourites.
Tunbridge Wells lead 2-0 against Shildon after the first leg.

Unfortunately can't go because my eldest son has bought two tickets for the Sunderland v Man Utd game on Easter Saturday!
Fortunately I will be watching the super U's on Easter Monday at Boundary Park.

MATT LE TISSIER ‘s announcement he has signed to play for Guernsey FC does not guarantee he will play for the club.
That was the warning from Green Lions’ coach Tony Vance who rubbished suggestions that the former Southampton and England star would definitely feature in next Saturday’s home game against Raynes Park Vale.
Le Tissier is now 44 but is getting fit training for the Father’s Day Half Marathon.
He was asked on Twitter if the rumour that he was going to play for the Green Lions was true and he replied that it was.

I'm not sure about the top 2 being promoted.
I think I've read somewhere that the Football League take a view on which teams get promoted to Tier 4 depending on how well the respective teams have done in previous years in Tier 5 as I think there are only 2 promotion spaces from a possible 4 feeder leagues.

I've no idea about that.
The FA tier system is complicated at the lower levels when it doesn't 't really need to be.

I feel bad I've yet to go to game. I only get two Saturdays off in 5 and given choice between Guernsey live and Col Utd on wireless being Essex Boy U' s win every time.
However with all these games coming up I will make the effort , no excuse and ground only five min walk from my house.

Not sure sure I read they were beginning Wolves whose shirts they also sponsor.

Colliers Wood United twice came from behind to seriously dent Guernsey FC’s promotion push in the CCL Premier Division on Wednesday night, even with Matt Le Tissier coming off the bench to make his debut for the Green Lions.
Alex Le Prevost and Matt Loaring put GFC 1-0 and then 2-1 up, but were twice cancelled out before half-time and when Mario Embalo struck a brace after the restart, it was a third defeat in five games for the Lions, who also lost twice in a row for the first time.

3 games in weekend Friday night Sat and Sun afternoon !!!!!
Guernsey FC completed their weekend fixtures with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Sandhurst Town at Footes Lane.
GFC went 1-0 down early in the first half.
But the home side equalised through Marc McGrath before Glyn Dyer scored a stunning goal from distance.
But Sandhurst, who are at the bottom of the CCL Premier Division, showed real determination to level the scores and had chances to take the lead again.
Then in the last minute of normal time, Dominic Heaume flicked on a Dave Rihoy long throw, that fell to McGrath to smash the ball home to secure 3 valuable points.
With a win against Molesey on Saturday and draw with Ash United on Friday night, it means 7 points from 9 for GFC.
Next up are Bedfont Sports on Tuesday night before 4 games next weekend.

You should petition the club Guerno, see if the U's can arrange a pre-season friendly - that'll be a welcome trip in the middle of summer  | |
