Heart of Midlothian. Midlothian, one of the Scotish council areas. Hibernian related to Hibernia, although that orinigally refers to Ireland, then the meaning was expanded, Notts County, Nottingham, of course.

could the question of the thread be rephrased, perchance? Went up and down from the PL to League 2 and there is legitimate reason to discount most if not all. Arsenal (not Arsenal of London or whatever, .. I suppose by that reasoning Hearts would fit. Wolves too then, albeit Wolverhampton, but I'm not sure that's the question or disqualifier, for that matter.

Identify the teams... (n/t) on 16:29 - May 29 with 273 views | Leadbelly | The list is as follows; Arsenal - north London Port Vale - Burslem, one of the six towns which form the city of Stoke Heart of Midlothian - named after a dance club and not actually in Midlothian Hibernian - The Roman name for Ireland St Johnstone - Perth St Mirren - Paisley. St Mirin founded a church there(or something) Queen of the South - Dumfries Raith Rovers - Kirkcaldy Albion Rovers - Coatbridge Clyde is arguable. It is in the town of Cumbernauld but I think it is on the Clyde. [Post edited 29 May 2014 16:41]

Identify the teams... on 13:17 - Jun 2 with 221 views | Leadbelly | The town of Dumfries has been known as The Queen of the South since 1857 when local poet and prospective parliamentary candidate David Dunbar referred to the town as such during one of his speeches. Heart of Midlothian FC was formed by members of Heart of Midlothian Dancing Club.
