Another quiz! 16:54 - May 28 with 537 viewsLeadbelly

As at the end of the 2013-14 season there were 11 England or Wales based teams in the Premier League to Football Conference which have a "moniker" that is unique to them.

There are numerous Towns, Uniteds and Wanderers but which are the 11 singular teams (by my reckoning...which may be wrong)

Bonus question...within the same parameters as the main question ie PL to Conference, what is unique about the name "Hull City" ?

If I have understood question correctly I can start you off with 10

Aston Villa
Plymouth Argyle
Crewe Alexandra
Tottenham Hotspur
Nottingham Forest
Sheffield Wednesday
MK Dons
Accrington Stanley
Kidderminster Harriers
Preston North End

Would Queens Park Rangers be the final one?

Kingston upon Hull. Might as well be named Kingston City, I suppose.

Trent FC, in that case, Stoke-on-Trent ..

Poll: In Daniel's PL, Sector4 is top, I'm 2nd or 3rd depending on the update

None of them! I was trying to differentiate from Scotland, where unusual names abound, but clearly went too far.

I can see your reasoning.

I've tried, honest I have, but the only thing I can come up with is that they are named after the Crystal Palace, and therefore they don't have a moniker per se?

...or have I missed some obscure Dog and Duck Palace playing somewhere?

Wessex - Crystal Palace is an actual named place/ town/ suburb of London

As self appointed judge and jury of the quiz I don't believe Palace qualifies. I'm sure it was named after the Crystal Palace but there is also a Crystal Palace Park and Crystal Place rail station.
