Less stressful Saturday afternoon? 12:31 - May 9 with 1555 viewsgerry_us

After last Saturday what is everyone doing this afternoon?

I'm refitting the bathroom and hope to finish by tomorrow; beginning to get a bit "niffy"

DE - you chose a good game seeing as final score was 2-3

TS - Chorley were cruising at 2 - 0 then they suffered 3 injuries two defenders and their keeper. Guiseley grew into the game and brought the game back to 2-2 and scored a third. Chorley hit the bar in the last minute but the ball didn't cross the line.

Guiseley thus promoted to Football Conference.

Chorley's centre forward is James Dean so definitely a rebel with a cause!

My Tranmere-supporting mate's other club is Chorley - he has very mixed emotions about the possibility they'll be playing each other next season!

Seeing Plymouth in the play-offs reminded me of this, from 1996.

Chesterfield back on our travels and most likely Blades as well. Looking like a busy schedule "Up North" for us and the U's Durham.

Went to London to see 'The Book of Mormon'.

Written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone; the creators of South Park; with music by Robert Lopez (of Disney's "Frozen" fame); one perhaps expected contemporary teenage cheesy fun. So was it suitable for a somewhat more long in the tooth Mr & Mrs Noah? We did appear to be amongst the more elderly in the audience when as regular London theatre goers we had never experienced that before. Our vedict;

Paid £97 per ticket for a third row stalls best seat; so was it worth it?
Music; perhaps average; that didn't seem to matter despite it being a musical.
Lyrics; sheer genius;
Stage, costumes and effects; simple but brilliant;
Cast; superb; all stars
Irreverand; yes.
Politically correct; absolutely not,
Hilarious; beyond belly aching laughs; right off the scale.
Would highly recommend if not easily offended by satirical humour.
Suitable for 'old fogies'; much better than that;
Best laff in about four decades (was like lighting a fart when on vodka and red bull).

Next week....cricket (but Mrs Noah is now happy for a while).

What a few weeks you've had!

Definitely gardening, perhaps a few days out with museum visits. Also, a DC United game or two, Washington Nats baseball, the Women's World Cup them Canadians are hosting. Always a fun watch, I have found.

I'm ok with a calmer respite from a stressful end of season for our ColU's

Looking forward to the schedule being announced so I know how to plan my trip over...

The other half spent a sizeable chunk of Saturday afternoon arguing with BT about the increasingly poor broadband connection. It was the culmination of two weeks of "discussions" throughout which BT claimed neither they nor their equipment was at fault. Turns out they were wrong! Vicarious stress but my good lady prevailed.

Chinese takeaway in the evening was stress free.

Poll: Safe standing at football; yes, know or don't know?

We get Boro v Brentford on BeIN sports today. Oh joy.

And to your point, Leadbelly, my wifi has sucked for the last few days.

A salad tonight, romaine with tomato, bacon bits, hardboiled egg, and croutons. Topped with a somewhat of a gourmet brand of caesars salad dressing. The Washington Wizards play at home v the Atlanta Hawks tonight. That's on the teley. Hawks up 3-2 in a best of 7 series. Capitals, the hockey team, lost in overtime, for the FIFTH time in their history when holding a 3 games to 1 advantage in terms of games won. Chocked it away to the New York Rangers 2-1 in overtime. Lost 4 games to 3.

The Washington Nationals baseball team were the Vegas odd-on favourites to win the World Series, but so far have struggled.

There seems to be a kind of curse on DC sports. Hope the Wizards can at least make it 3-3 before a final game in Atlanta later this week. The Nats at least have till the end of September to break our local sports fans' hearts.

Norwich vs Ipswich early doors followed by Leicester vs Saints (rugby), perhaps a couple of pints in the Foresters Arms afterwards and then resting up before the Tour de Tendring tomorrow.

Ditched the Old Farm Derby in favour of Essex v Surrey T20. Surrey 79 - 1 off 6 so it's already a bit stressful.

...or El Tractico as I heard it described on the radio.

Ipswich losing 1-0 to a Hoolahan penalty, and down to 10 men, after Berra red-carded for handling on the line - shame :-)

Delighted, couldn't have happened to a nicer team.

Bet they couldn't find room for Elliott Hewitt either!!!!!

El Tractico! Wish I'd thought of that.

I switched between the football and cricket. Norwich won 3-1. Surrey 205-5. Ipswich played like Essex bowled.

Now going to replace the broken latch mechanism on the living room door. Air will turn blue and stress levels will rise as always happens with DIY.
