Cobblers to come unstitched against the Super U's 12:40 - Feb 19 with 1664 viewsdurham_exile

Time is very tight this week after a busy schedule.

Today the Super U’s travel to Sixfields at 2pm to play the Cobblers led by Jon Brady.

Weather 7 degrees Celsius with a light breeze and rain showers. Certainly, a vast improvement on Storm Eunice.

John Akinde and Noah Chilvers should be in contention for a place today. Tom Dallison and long tern injury victim Ryan Clampin remain side-lined.

Predicted score 3-1 to Colchester (we owe Northampton one after the jammy 1-0 at the JSCS earlier in the season).

My Predicted team:

George

Tchamadeu Chambers Smith Kenlock

Skuse Wiredu Chilvers

Judge

Akinde Sears

Subs
Hornby MWH, Hannant Andrews Huws Edwards Wright

However, WB will go for:
George
Tchamadeu Chambers Smith Kenlock
Skuse Wiredu
Edwards Wright
Judge
Sears

Safe journey to the travelling faithful.

Enjoy the game

Wet and miserable in Northampton at the moment. One of those days when the ball will stick.

BBC reckon we are lining up 3 4 3.
Hopefully management will take the hint.

Gerry realistically 5,4,1 but we will see.

I am incandescent that once again WB has overlooked Corie Andrews in the starting XI.
As Mr Witham opines the pitch will be heavy and sticky. Andrews has the strength and speed to not only support Sears but also can stick the ball in the back of the net.

1-0 down, chasing the game.
Brown must change it up early.
Corie Andrews is the man to come on and to play alongside Sears.

Brown is simply demonstrating that he is not the man to take us forward. He remains too defensibly minded.

Regulation home win for the Cobblers now, unless Brown changes things around. 2-0 :-(

Corie Andrews brought on at last for Eastman.

Again we wait until we are two nil down before making the change.

The team is a shadow of the side that crushed Salford at Moor Lane

Enough pussy footing around WB is NOT the answer because he is not dynamic enough.

I really do not understand why he fails to consider we are a better side when we take the game to the opposition but once again we are chasing the game.

Simply not good enough.

In the meantime other teams are snapping up the better managers who are external candidates.

Get it sorted FFS.

Enough said

Monkeyhangers Tuesday night

Line up must be attacking from the outset.

Just typical - when all you want is the ray of hope that a consolation goal might bring, the U's concede a third. Regardless of how the second half's pan out elsewhere, our next four home matches will probably define our season when we look back. After his first three matches Wayne and the gang seemed to be the answer, but not now.

Comprehensively beaten by a team ruthless in front of goal. 450 U’s fans should get MOM as our team was pants.

Smith awful. Sears up front, alone never works. Team too old and too slow. Must start Tuesday will Dallison, Chilvers, Wright and Andrews, Drop Sears.

I was pretty pi55ed off listening to that woeful performance but now seething listening to WB’s post match comments. Delusional would be an understatement.

After last week's draw against Carlisle I posted that two wins and three draws in WB's first six matches was a good return after our dismal December. I am beginning to regret my optimism.

We were never in the game until the 75th minute. Good job we had a good morning's retail therapy and a even better lunch.

I think it's time to abandon the three at the back idea as it just doesn't seem to be working. If Eastman isn't deemed to be good enough to start in a centre back pairing then he shouldn't start at all. We somehow need to work out how to get the best out of Wiredu as he's really dropped off recently and he was our best player last season.

There five teams in the division that are unbeaten in their last five matches. We are playing three of them in our next four matches...Hopefully it will be another Exeter situation.
