Said elsewhere, key for me would be sitting nicely in the top 8 positions at the end of Phase 3; preferably top 4.
This could mean a different calibre of player attracted in the next window be them loans or permanent.
Players more likely to want to join a club on the up and top clubs more willing to send their players to better performing outfits
The flip side might be players being sniffed around
I know that’s a part of the plan but losing Ronnie or Jimmy or anyone mid season IF we’re on a roll would be hugely disappointing and disruptive. Just as bad might be clubs recalling star performers such as Prince Charles or Kamara — memories of Kyle Walker but that wasn’t so bad at the end.

I still think we've left six points on the table (Charlton, PNE, Bolton) and possibly seven as worthy a point v Boro but I'm not counting that as not an "expected return".
So six points down.
Then we go to the Brew Dog Stadium where I expected us to get dicked by that mob with Bowen hanging the back of Miss Dyer etc. That is most definetely a point gained so down to five left on the table.
Against Swansea I expected a draw before their surge at the summit...... with how the season was panning and our Treatment Room that was quite possibly an expectation of zero; but I'll stick with a draw. So that's two points gained.
Now down to three left on the table.
If, by some miracle, we win next Saturday we will be parring my course of points return hoped for / slightly expected at this stage.
I had us down for a defeat v Burnley so if we get two wins in a row then ahead of things which would be absolutely bloody amazing. [Post edited 26 Oct 17:14]

The word from Worthing fans is that C.A.B is, and I quote, "far better than our (Worthing's) level and he'll be a player"
Good to hear.
Morgan's situation really surprises me.
It feels like a wasted few months for him and I'd sooner we had kept him around the gaff even if just for the odd cameo or fill in; even that is better than what he's getting at the moment.
Maybe it's case of his face doesn't fit, he's not comfortable oop North and being away has knocked him sideways? It happens with young 'un's.
If nothing else I hope the experience gives him more steel and determination to make it here.
For the others I'd hope Big Phil can get some 1st team minutes soon. |

Had to give up my season ticket of 33 years a few years back
Sadly don’t make many games and unlikely to add many more to my away grounds tally
Makes you feel a bit detached
Then you get the match reports and previews in these here pages and that connection stirs…. albeit remotely
I totally get how overseas R’s like Silky find them vital |

Don’t trust the fella - not sure I ever will.
The state of the sports science side is well documented and his loyalty to his mate is highly questionable there.
However, I’ve been on the record for giving him credit in removing the culture of mediocrity that used to pervade at the club.
The shake up well overdue at youth and development levels that had a losing culture for ages; I still
Don’t get the Furlong departure as he actually delivered.
This is his third season and it’s judgement time now.
Let’s see where we end up but so far so good for him, us and the club |

Interesting you mention this and a post above mentions the Liz Truss mini period of mad office.
Now Truss was/is a buffoon; absolutely no denying that and God knows how Rishi lost out to her originall.
However, the Bond sell off her mini budget prompted is oft cited as nearly breaking the economy and the ramifications of it still around. I took interest in it as it had a really bad fallout to me personally and meant a sharp deviation my own life plan.
What a lot of people who chuck the “Truss Mad Mini Budget” seem to not realise is this is now actually an accepted tactic across many governments and people don’t even raise an eyebrow.
You are bang on that it is happening again now and rates have actually been higher than Truss’s worst moment. That’s an inconvenient fact for the red tinted spectacles.
There’s no easy answer and none of the politat have the answer.
I don’t either by the way!
This country does need a short sharp shock but it’ll be too late very soon.
I’ll be buying lots of baked beans in my shopping today.
That’ll have me sleeping soundly tonight |

Proper gutsy
Made a few errors but far far fewer you’d expect of a lad his age; confidence is growing each quarter of a game he gets through.
Really good contribution throughout with his block tackle in the second goal a highlight. However, what I loved was his attitude - check him out at times boosting up more senior players around him; his body shape and positioning demanding the ball and he don’t take no nonsense from any oppo player.
He’s also no slouch
In the confessional I’ll admit to Father Steph that I never thought this lad would be a player at this level….. wrong |

Thought you were describing my relationship with my wife but I see you mean rowing not…..
In terms of gadget
I got a turntable that you could pop your first generation iPod into a slot and it was supposed to download the vinyl track and convert to a digital file on said iPod
Loved it - for about 5 minutes.
It filled the iPod up memory wise with about three recordings and two months later the first gen iPod wasn’t supported by Apple anymore in any case
That aside - the iPod absolutely blew my mind when it first came out.
Still remember not getting my head around how you could have so many songs at your fingertips with no cassettes or CD’s |

It’s a bit concerning and my first thought was the hysteria it could cause.
