He will probably do as well as previous managers and Chelsea will move him onwards in a year or so.

For me, seems a risky appointment by them and not their usual type appointment.

Chelsea, these days to me, its irrelevant.

They are a club, we won't ever be competing with again, anytime soon and they are up and down and just about clinging on to being a big club in terms of performances but not in the top three or four.

We certainly have no rivalry with them for many years due to finances, so as said they are an irrelevance to us.

Even if he performs well, he will inevitably be sacked.

The madness of football today !!

Six year contract, it's a total dream for him. He either makes it at the top level or gets made a very rich man within six months. Nice...

I wonder if they asked him if he saw his Dad score against them in a certain game in 1986 and how he felt about it? Nah, didn’t think so.

He serms a likeable bloke so a very weird fit at the Scummers. His Dad is a nice guy as well, lives local to me and I once embarrassed him in a pub, gushing over his goal in 86…

Even for a club like them... I often wonder what the heck is going on.... 6 years !!!!

Would he be on a £60 million contract, so they have to spread it over a long time... doubtful but you never know with them

So unless he is another Klopp. Pep, or Arteta...he as a nice little payday coming up 14 months from now, or sooner... insane

Just over 160 games as a manager with a pretty decent 1.30 points per game, but dear o dear if ever a job is a poison chalice it is that one, with the exception of Man Ure.....

As OP can't wish him well... but pleased he will walk away hopefully having taken them down to a relegation dogfight in the championship in those 14 months... a very rich man

I googled him.

It confirmed that his father was Leroy. Wiki said, Leroy came on in the 1986 League Cup Final; the 40th anniversary of which is this year.

My left eye twitched upon being reminded of this. I believe Chelsea are in the semifinals of this competition. They will now go on to win the bloody thing.

I'm already seething....I don't want to be a scouser about it, but it's clearly a conspiracy against us!

No, me neither:

1) He clearly negotiated for another worker's job while they were still in it, and
2) He's working for a vile and racist club

As far as I'm aware he has/had no connections to QPR so I would not wish him well or unwell any more than anyone else who manages that club.

I remember his Dad playing, who played 38 games for QPR, but as far as Liam goes it's a complete 'meh'.

As I understand things chelshit now have to pay off their previous incumbent who's name escapes me because they've employed yet another bloke who I've never really heard of.
You need to stop and think about this for a minute, chelshit must be hemorrhaging money, when will It all stop? who gives a fck? there Is a massive imbalance of money available to football clubs, and that Is unfairly wrong, you just go out and ''cherry pick'' the best Managers and best players.
But nobody seems to give a fck anymore.
(I do).

I enjoyed watching him for us, but obviously hope it goes very badly for him.

Modern Chelsea being modern Chelsea, he will have the fans and owners on his case after 6 games, and will be sacked after 14 months having won the league, the FA Cup, whatever that sh it thing they won last year was, and whatever European cup they are currently in. Since Abramovich came along, even when they are a dysfunctional mess, they still win stuff. Hopefully he starts with a defeat at our place tomorrow.

Did a decent job at Hull.
Was Coach, and allegedly the brains, behind Rooney at Derby, which is a poisoned chalice, if ever there was one.
Been doing well at unfancied Strasbourg. Got them to 7th in Ligue 1 on limited resources cf with the likes of PSG, Marseille. By some happy coincidence, Strasbourg are owned by the same group that controls North Battersea.

But as others have said, a lucrative, long-term deal for an appointment that will never see out the 6 year term.
Allegedly, Mourinho has made £25m from being sacked early from various jobs. Nice work if you can get it.

The main thing here is what is happening at Strasbourg, quite frankly disgusting. A proud old club being forced to be Chelsea's feeder club. Should be a warning that it could happen to any of us and as ever, a reminder that our CEO ran a company that advised on these multi-club ownership deals

Funny they've turned to someone who Hull sacked last season. While he was probably unlucky, he did have a lot of money and even Strasbourg have been well backed financially. I can't see him working out there - expectant supporters, weirdo owners and the legacy of their dirty cash years.

A lot of those points are from the Championship, Frank Lampard also has plenty from this league,.

I do think Rosenior is a good managerial prospect, but a 6 year deal is ridiculous. Chelsea have a habit of sacking managers after 2 seasons even if they win trophies, but sooner if they don't.

Rosenior won't mind though as he will get a nice pay off when eventually sacked.

Interesting appointment and very cynical in many ways.
I actually think that it demonstrates the end of the all powering managers like Pep and ferguson (who utd have never successfully replaced)
I think the scum are looking at the three B's brentfor/brighton/bournemouth and attempting to replicate the systems they have successfully created - their managers are effectively coaches who have very little or no say in the transfers, they are there to coach the players that are brought in on analytics and to fit a system. Coupled with the multi club ownership, its effectively using lesser european sides to blood and breed your coaches with little or no real risk. They are also farming the players too - The scum have already agreed that Strasbourg's top scorer joins them in the summer.
It's a cynical 'wooden dollar's ' exercise that massages account sheets and I think we will be seeing much more of this in the coming years...
Gary O'neil taking over at Strasbourg probably also means he's being primed to take over at the scum after they have exhausted Rosenior's capabilities...

I hope he does worse than any manager ever. Failing in a way that forces the club to liquidate.

Great job being a football manager these days.

If you dont perform but you are reasonably good but nothing special, you can do so much better financially if you keep getting these long lucrative contracts that all get paid up in full even if you are sacked three months into your reign.

Football is totally messed up by insane amounts of money.

Man Utd should have stuck with David Moyes as Fergusons choice.

Ferguson was crap for four years at Man Utd before any kind of success. But no club from the premier league to a non league lower level tier will keep any manager for four years if they are simply mediocre.

Its the same in a lot of jobs now - restructures happen in corporate world all the time and many lose their jobs consistently.

No wonder half the world is messed up mentally.....

What do I or anyone else know though.

Let's see Liam leave Chelsea at the end of the season. He decides he wants a real challenge and decides to manage at local team QPR and we get promotion to the premier league, Chelsea fall into an embarrassing abyss and get a deduction of - 50 points and the hope of the cup final win playing local rivals QPR in the FA Cup final but Chelsea show their class and are despatched six nil by Queens Park Rangers - a double hattrick MASTERCLASS by Michael Frey !!!!!

Yes its an inevitable consequence and no I have not touched a drop either !!!!

I hate to be that grammar pedant but I'll have to pull you on the incorrect use of "friend" and "Chel*** fan" in the same sentence.
