It’s not irrelevant.
He wasn’t expected to win the play offs. He wasn’t expected to win the FA Cup. He wasn’t expected to be able to win every game.
So if you count him ‘not winning something’ that he was large underdog to achieve anyway as a failure - then that has to be consistent.
It means Martin failed to get promotion this season, it means Martin failed to win the league, Martin failed to win the FA Cup, Martin failed to win the League Cup.
Did Martin fail to do those things or not?

Are you suggesting he tried to lose games? If his goal was to win games then of course he was meant to get as many as possible to try and get promoted with.
