Wales v England - Coming To The Liberty Stadium?
Wales v England - Coming To The Liberty Stadium?

The possibility of England visiting the Liberty Stadium came a step closer yesterday

All sides in Wales group were unable to reach agreement on when the fixtures should be played leaving it to a random draw that will take place next week.

The draw means that the fixtures will be set without the agreement of the countries meaning that Wales will have to fit in home fixtures whenever they are drawn accordingly.

And with the Millennium Stadium - Wales first choice of fixture for their 'Premier' game - already booked for certain dates if that is when they are drawn at home then they will have to find an alternative venue with the Cardiff City Stadium and the Liberty Stadium being the only two feasible venues.

The Westerm Mail estimate the loss if that should happen at close to £1m with both stadiums having substantially reduced capacities when compared to the 72,500 seats at the Mill Stad.

There will be no special dispensation because of the double-booking and all the FAW can do is wait for the results of the fixture draw, set to be conducted during the Uefa congress in Tel Aviv.

There are 12 available dates to fit in eight fixtures between this September and October 2011 year – but only the two dates this October would affect using the Millennium Stadium.
