Andrea Orlandi has been told that the Swans will not wait forever for his decision

The Swansea City midfielder is sat on a contract offer from the club but has yet to put pen to paper on the extension that has been offered.

And now he has been warned by Chairman Huw Jenkins that the offer will not stay on the table forever especially as the Swans look to seek out new players for the coming season.

Speaking to the Western Mail, Jenkins said “We won’t set a deadline for Andrea

“But he knows he is running the risk of us finding someone else.

“We can’t pin all our hopes on him. If we wait and then he signs for someone else, it puts us in a bad position.

“So we have to keep looking for other players. We have to be in a position to replace Andrea if he leaves.

“If we find the right player and sign him before he gets back to us, then he might have to look elsewhere. That is just the nature of the game nowadays.

“With the way football works in this day and age, you can’t just hang around and idly wait for players to decide on a contract.

“You have to keep moving and always put the club’s interests first.

“I have no idea when he will give us an answer.

“We are still waiting to hear back from him.

“If players come back to us and want to sign then great.

“If they don’t, we will be prepared for that.”
