Alan Tate is considering a move into a coaching role when his playing days are over

Tate said in tonight's Evening Post "I do try to help the young lads through the game, but my role's no different to how I play in the first team — I can't change the way I play

"When you play in the first team the lads are used to being in certain positions, used to playing in big games and against better players.

"In the reserves you're trying to teach the lads you're playing besides. If I can help them, that's great.

"Coaching is something I've thought about. I'll think about it more towards the back end of my career and hopefully I've got a bit of time before that.

"I'll be doing them next year," he added. "I did my C Licence when I was a young apprentice, I've got the B, A and Pro Licence to do.

"Monks (Garry Monk) can probably be my assistant, but we'll have to see who gets there first."
